He hated this, it tugged at his very core. But not a hint of his internal fury was seen on his features-- They remained completely calm. His eyes, however, stared deep into her own, as if trying to scan her soul for a hint of something.

“Ignoring me, are you?”

Thankfully, she was lacking her usual finesse, and the assassin took swift action against her strike. Though he didn’t draw his cursed weapon, instead, he took a sharp step to the side to avoid her, leaping away soon after for more distance.

“Come now, the Zimra I know can push me much further.”

SHOES.

It was late in the night, pitch black outside except for the glow of lights coming through the windows. Damien was roaming the streets, eyes gleaming against the lights as he looks around. He’s walked these streets for years now, Damien knows every alleyway, everything crack in the sidewalk and every street name for every block. Unfortunately, he also knew how much danger could take place here. Despite the gentle old folk who usually retreat to little towns like this or the happy families that come up here for vacation this town had its demons and darkest moments. Violence disgusted Damien. So when he heard that there was some sort of psycho on the streets, Damien felt more obligated to scent them out and put a stop to the terror they were casting over this town. For more than one reason, if Damien had to honest with himself. Of course, he didn’t want damage to be done with this crazy person the streets but Damien also knew that if this criminal kept prowling around than some police activity would start acting up around town, which Damien did not need.

Like this city, Damien had some secrets of his own that were best left hidden. Suddenly, the stench of a fear-scent had Damien fall out of his thoughts. Lifting his head up and breathing in, he trailed the smell to an alleyway where he found a robber pointing his pocketknife at an older woman, desperately hugging her purse. A low growl rumbled in Damien’s chest and he quickly leapt into action, “Hey!” his deep voice made both jumped, the robber turning to Damien with an irritated look as he faced the large man. “Stay out of this. No one is going to get hurt if you back off now.” the robber warns but Damien holds his ground and narrows his eyes to orange slits “Leave her alone!” He simply shouts back. That’s when the robber fights back, lunging towards Damien with his pocket knife swinging. Damien staggering backward in a bit of surprise until he reached out and caught the robber by his wrist. The attacker struggles but Damien thinks fast and nails him in the jaw with a large fist. The woman screams in shock as the robber falls backward, unconscious. 

Only a few moments after she shrieked, sirens were heard wailing off in the distance, Damien swiveled around on his toes as he heard the cars screeching around turns. Neighbors must have called the police as soon as they heard the cry and with this being such a small town with everyone on their toes, the police were ready to go speeding away to any emergency. Damien was panting, fear striking through him like a bolt of lightning as he began to run away. He was skidding around the corner, glancing back over his shoulder when suddenly he was colliding with another body. “Unnff-” the breath is knocked out of Damien and he falls on his rear from the collision. He looks over to the other with orange orange eyes before he is scrambling back up and charging away, the gift of his wolf-like speed giving him his speedy escape.
