Things Happen For A Reason Part 3
Sorry for the delay my lovely snund comrades. Took me longer than Iâd have liked to write this part. Work has been a pain. Yada yada⌠Enjoy and let me know what you think. Hopefully the next part wonât take as long :)
~~~~~
It had been three days since the incident with that homeless boy. Snake hadnât seen him around the neighborhood, hell the town for that matter. He shouldnât care, should be glad for that matter, but something about that boy kept nagging at the back of his head.
Snake shook his head. This kid wasnât his problem. He should just forget about him, right?
Snake sighed as he walked out of Wal-Mart with a bag of groceries and made his way to his car. Snake looked up as he unlocked his car. He wished he hadnât then.
âOh noâŚâ It was that homeless brat. He was sitting across the street in front of a cafĂŠ, asking passing strangers something; probably for money. Everyone just passed right by, ignoring him as though he werenât even there.
Snake opened the passenger door to his car and put the bag of food in the seat. âJust ignore him, Snake. Heâs not your problem,â Snake muttered to himself.
He looked at the boy one last time as he closed the door. He looked so much paler and thinner then he remembered. The boys words echoed through his head again.
Snake groaned.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scott sighed sadly. He clinched his stomach as it grumbled. He hadnât eaten the day before. He needed something, anything to eat.
A hand came down on Scotts shoulder, startling him. He turned to see one of the employees to the cafĂŠ.
The man looked at him with a stern look. âYou need to go, kid. The customers are starting to complain.â
Scott nodded and got up. He made his way down the sidewalk.
A familiar, deep voice stopped him. âHey there.â
Scott could feel the hairs on the back of his neck rise as he turned and faced the owner of the voice.
There stood the owner of the house he had snuck into. He stood only inches from Scott.
Why? Why was he here??
âI havenât been anywhere near your neighborhood! I swear!â
The man shook his head, âthat isnât why Iâm here.â
Scott just looked at him, not wanting to say something to upset the man. This guy already didnât like him.
The man pinched the bridge of his nose. He let out a long sigh. âHow would you like to come get some food?â
Scott looked at him, puzzled. âWhatâŚ?â
âYouâre hungry, right? Do you want food or not?â
âI do, but-â
The man cut him off, turning around and started to walk away. âThen come on.â
Scott hesitantly followed behind the man to his car. After the bag of groceries was moved, Scott slid into the passenger seat.
Scott looked at the man as he climbed in the driverâs side and started the car.
The man didnât look at him. âWhat?â
Scott quickly looked away. âNothing. Itâs just⌠I donât understand why youâre doing this. I thought you hated me.â
The man shrugged, âGuess I have more of a heart than you thought.â Scott softly smiled. Perhaps this guy wasnât so bad after all.
âItâs Snake, by the way.â
âIâm Scott.â
With that, they pulled out of the parking lot and made their way to Snakeâs home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snake and Scott sat on opposite sides of the table. It was quiet in the small house, the only sounds coming from the two eating.
Once done, Snake watched as Scott finished off his plate of spaghetti. Scott didnât notice, his attention only on the food in front of him. It had been ages since he had a decent meal like this.
Scott set his utensils down on the plate when he had finished. He looked up at Snake.
âI take it you enjoyed the food.â
Scott nodded, âThank you.â
Snake shrugged. He got up, grabbing his and Scotts plates and brought them over to the sink.
Scott got up as well. âWell, I guess I should go. I need to find a place to sleep for the night and-â
âYouâre not going anywhere.â
Scott froze in place. He couldnât be serious, right?
Snake sat back down at the table. He motioned for Scott to do the same.
Reluctantly, Scott sat back down at the table.
âOkay, brat. Listen up. I have a deal for you.â
Scott glared at Snake. âDonât call me a brat. What do you mean âa dealâ?â
âYou stayed here for, what, a week while I was gone? I say you owe me for the water, electric, and gas bill increase during my leave as well as any food you may have eaten of mine.â
âI donât have any money! If I did, donât you think Iâd be sleeping in my own home instead of the fucking street??â Scott was beginning to get upset. Did this guy bring him here just to make fun of him for being homeless?
âIâm not asking you for money. What I want is for you to repay me by doing things for me. Iâll even allow you to stay here, so long as you abide by my rules.â
Scott stared at Snake, unsure if he had heard him right. âYouâre going to let me stay hereâŚ?â
Snake smirked, âonly if you are willing to become my house maid.â
Scott arched an eyebrow. âWhat do you mean by house maid exactly?â
âIn order for me to let you stay here, youâre going to have to earn your stay. So I want you to take care of things like cleaning my house, running errands for me, anything that I donât want to do.â
Scott pressed his lips together, thinking carefully about the situation at hand. This seemed like a good deal. He would get food and a place to stay. All he had to do is sell his soul to this asshole and become his house maid. It would be better than being on the streets and hungry at least.
Scott extended his hand to Snake. âAlright, youâve got a deal. Iâll be your little house maid.â
Snake took Scotts hand in his, smiling. âWelcome to your new home, Scott.â
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scott came into the living room, a towel wrapped around his waist. He looked annoyed. It had been two days now since he started living with Snake. Things werenât exactly calm between the two.
âOkay, Snake, very funny. Whatâd you do with my clothes?â
Snake was sat on the couch, reading a book. Scott couldnât tell what book it was. He didnât look up from the pages. âI threw them out.â
Scottâs eyes widened. âYou WHAT?!â
âThey were torn and a mess, Scott.â
âI donât care!! Those were the only clothes I had! What the hell do you expect me to wear, Snake?? You canât expect me to wear your clothes! Theyâre too fucking big!â Scott was red with anger.
Snake set the book down next to him on the couch. He looked up at Scott. âCalm down, Scott. Youâre getting upset over nothing. I-â
âNothing?! Not having clothes is not fucking nothing! Dammit, Snake! Youâre the biggest asshole ever, you know that?!â
Snake frowned, his eyes narrowed. He got up and strode over to Scott. He shoved Scott in the direction of the bedroom. âQuit being a bitch and go look on the bed.â
Scott didnât go, his eyes never leaving Snakes.
Snakeâs eyes pierced through Scott, challenging him to say something else. âFine, you can do the chores with a towel wrapped around your waist then.â He turned, went back to the couch, and grabbed his book.
He couldnât be serious. There was no way Scott was doing anything in his current state.
Snake left the room, heading to his office.
Scott heard the door shut. Groaning, Scott went to the bedroom. May as well see what the jerk meant by âlook on the bedâ.
On the bed were three bags from Kohlâs. Had those been there before? Scott grabbed one of the bags and looked inside. It contained some pants.
Scott grabbed a pair and held them out. They werenât big enough to fit Snake. Wait⌠did heâŚ? He held the pants up to his slim waist. They were just the right size for him. Had Snake really gone to the store and bought him new clothes? Why?
Scott emptied the contents of the bag; four pairs of pants, one pair of shorts, and a pack of boxers. Scott emptied the contents of another bag; six t-shirts and two button-down shirts. The last bag appeared to be a box of shoes.
Why would Snake buy him all these clothes? He didnât even say anything.
Scott got dressed in the new clothes. He had to admit, Snake had nice taste. The clothes were very nice. He grabbed the box of shoes from the other bag. A smaller, black bag was left in the bag. He set the box down and grabbed the bag.
Scott frowned when he saw the contents of the bag. He pulled out a skimpy black french maid outfit. âWhat the fuck? This is just⌠No.â He shook his head and tossed the outfit to the other side of the bed.
He left the room and went to the office. He just went right in, not bothering to knock.
Snake was sitting in front of his computer.
âSnakeâŚâ
âI told you not to bother me while Iâm in my office, brat. â
Scott frowned. âWhy didnât you tell me you were going to buy me clothes?â
Snake turned to look at Scott, looking him over. âI see you stopped being stubborn and actually listened.â
âWhy did you buy me these? You know I canât pay you back for these.â
âYou couldnât keep going around looking like you did. Youâre not going to stay here like that. As for paying me back, Iâll just add that to your dept.â
Scott rolled his eyes. âWhateverâŚâ
âNow, if you donât mind, Iâm busy. I believe you have chores to do.â
Scott turned to leave, but stopped when Snake spoke. âOh, if you donât mind, I bought you a special outfit to clean in. I would hate for it to go to waste.â
Scott gritted his teeth. Sick bastard⌠He quickly left before he said something heâd regret, shutting the door behind him.
