Oooooo my gosh. Okay, here’s links to my Scott/Scar posts, but I am going to give a little more:

Scar/Scott is so much fun. They’re both so charismatic and powerful and artistic and whimsical. Could you imagine them going to Disneyland together? Scott would listen to all of Scar’s theme park rambling and engage with him.

They are both passenger princes. Scar can’t drive because he truly cannot focus on anything other than Star Wars or theme parks for more than five minutes and Scott because he’s so “‘ugh but then I have to engage with the world’ leans back in chair dramatically ‘I should just be carried wherever I need to go’”, and he’s so right for that. Scar is the type of person to engage in conversation with the uber driver. Scott is also the type of person to engage in conversation with the uber driver. They are every introverted driver’s worst nightmare. They tip well, though.

Scar would be an Instagram boyfriend. He would take all of Scott’s Instagram pictures. He would also take candid shots, though, because Scott is gorgeous to him all of the time. They’re interesting to me, because Scar can be very violent in a very impulsive way, whereas Scott is very competitive. In that way, I think that Scar can further appreciate Scott in ways that other people might not. Scott’s main alure is that he’s a pretty boy who’s also so very smart, but he’s also capable of serious diplomacy and incredible violence, which is a side of him that a lot of people criticize and demonize more than they probably would if he was not flamboyant simply because he gets fit into a box of “feminine + violence (whether physical or otherwise) = the greatest evil ever”, which is like, no. You can be non-masculine and be as violent as anyone else. Masculinity doesn’t give you an excuse to be more violent than anyone else. It’s a very “showing anger or frustration isn’t lady like” take. While I think that all of the Life Series cast understands that and sees through it (especially literally the entirety of BITES), I think Scar would be more appreciative of Scott’s more violent side.

Scott is selfless. He helps people when he can, and he makes compromises when someone’s asking too much of him. While Scar is often seen as a crook and a scammer, he’s also quick to trust that no one will scam him. I think that Scott is confident enough in his ability to see when Scar is giving him a bad deal to be very comfortable around him, which Scar would appreciate judging by his complaining about how people only see him as a conman and forget when he is vulnerable. Scott would make him feel so seen and safe. Scott would laugh when Scar’s making a bad deal, and he would be supportive of Scar having fun in every way.

Also, a lot of people headcanon Scar as a baker, cause, y’know, elven kisses. Scott LOVES to bake. I only have Instagram to stay up to date with Scott’s stories and Scar’s cats, and Scott bakes so much. Loved his bread saga. Scott loves to cook to the point where he almost did it for a living, and I need these two in the same kitchen. Could you imagine what their kitchen would look like? It would be so whimsical and also incredibly cat proofed. With Scar currently having two cats and Scott thinking about getting a second cat, oh, their house would be SO cat proofed.

Interestingly enough, Scott and Scar have two different approaches to magic, if we’re looking at magic from a categorical stand point despite that not necessarily being how magic works in many forms of media. Scar is a wizard; most people wouldn’t necessarily imagine him as a witch. Scott is a witch; most people wouldn’t necessarily imagine him as wizard. Though I don’t personally enjoy putting magic in boxes that aren’t supposed to overlap, wizardry is typically seen as more technical magic, more like an equation that follows a sort of arithmetic kind of logic, while witchcraft is typically seen as more arcane based, more spiritual and mystic. I think it would be really fun to see how they co-exist in the same home.

Scottdubs, oh good heavens. I have some thoughts on them as a serious couple, but I need to get the silly thoughts out of the way first.

This is how Bdubs sees himself every time he interacts with Scott in the Life Series, and I think about it every day of my life. It makes me laugh so hard. He is so frightened of Scott, as he has every right to be. Scott can be dangerous, and he’s also half a foot taller than Bdubs.

Fr I do think that their relationship with each other would begin because Scott was flirting with Bdubs and eventually decided “that’s my boyfriend now” and just kept being very boyfriend-like to Bdubs until Bdubs noticed. He didn’t even notice. Cleo had to knock some sense into him to get Scott to stop complaining to them about it. I like to think that Gem and Impulse are also very aware of this and get nosy about it. It’s their own personal romcom.

Bdubs is so used to being stuck between groups in a way where he’s being forced to pick a side but has reasons to be loyal to either side. However, Scott’s really good at maintaining good relationships with almost everyone else on the server. In particular, he has a strong reputation with Etho, the person who is usually tugging at Bdubs’ loyalty. All in all, Scott is kind of exactly what Bdubs is looking for in a teammate. He’s very good at the game, but he’s not going to be upset with Bdubs for messing up. He’s loyal to Bdubs, but he won’t have complaints if Bdubs wants to be friendly with other alliances so long as Bdubs knows who he’ll be loyal to in the finale. He’s always got a plan for the episode and has set goals for every episode, but he communicates his plans and goals, remains flexible, and is open to collaboration, meaning Bdubs won’t feel like he’s trapped in a power struggle like in Wild Life.

Meanwhile, Bdubs has a lot of respect for Scott and recognizes how skilled Scott is. Scott deserves that kind of respect. Bdubs is very observant when it comes to other players’ behavior. He seems to know a lot of players’ tells. He’s well aware that Scott is only a danger prior to the finale if you provoke him, and he notices when someone (Scott) doesn’t seem to be doing well (Bdubs thought Scott was going through something irl after Jimmy died in 3rd Life)(My boy can act). It’s very clear that Bdubs is very attentive as a friend, and likely equally if not more so as a partner. Scott deserves someone who pays attention, who knows his tells, who can identify how he’s feeling and some of the likely reasons for his mood without Scott having to open his mouth. He deserves someone who gets excited about almost anything anyone else is excited about, and he deserves to be with someone who respects him.

Something that I really love about the Scottdubs dynamic is how Bdubs is constantly trying to keep calm and then has outbursts, while Scott is calm near all of the time and only really crashes out when everything is truly insane. I think he'd be great at listening when Bdubs needs to ramble about something he's mad about. They do mindfulness exercises, and Bdubs watches Scott do yoga. He gets a little huffy about how flexible Scott is.

Okay. Bdubs is a morning person. Scott has talked a few times about not being a morning person. That man wants nothing more than to sleep in. Bdubs wakes up bright and early, makes a big show of it, and makes breakfast and coffee before Scott can be bothered to sit up in bed. Bdubs goes to bed early. Scott is up late into the night. He is FAR too energetic at night for Bdubs' old man internal clock. Combined, they are sleep deprived. They need a weekend off.
