Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) isn’t “so bad it’s good.” It’s just good—brilliantly, joyfully, inventively good.
Directed by the Chiodo Brothers—yes, those Chiodo Brothers—this cult classic isn’t camp. It’s a fully realized, satirical sci-fi horror that treats its absurd premise with total sincerity. Evil extraterrestrials who look like circus clowns descend on a small town, harvesting humans with cotton candy cocoons, balloon-animal stranglers, and popcorn guns. And it all works—because the film believes in itself.
This is pod people with punchlines, Invasion of the Body Snatchers by way of a haunted funhouse. The practical effects are masterful—rubbery, expressive, and gloriously tactile. The klowns have personality: some sadistic, some bureaucratic, all terrifying. The soundtrack? Iconic. The worldbuilding? Cohesive, clever, and dripping with 1980s Reagan-era dread.
Too often dismissed as ironic fun, Killer Klowns is actually a minor masterpiece of genre filmmaking—a film that plays its premise to the hilt, all “circus” bases touched.
4/5 stars. Not a guilty pleasure. A necessary one.

So this is probably one of the more 'out there' designs I've done, which is definitely saying something - but it's 2025 and everything's weird and on fire so I'm just letting my brain gremlins run wild!
Who wouldn't want to enjoy a cozy little Bed & Breakfast among the stars on a nightmare planet? The perfect location for a nice book and long cryosleep to wake up to new futuristic (and yet oh so relatable in our current time) horrors created by your corporate overlords! I don't know about you guys, but the way things are going on this planet I think a little R&R at this B&B might be more serene.
I'm a big fan of subtle fandom jokes, and the idea of a cute little cottagecore Bed and Breakfast design for one of the most horrifying movie franchises that I watch yearly with my sister just tickled me pink. I wanted to make something that at a glance would look like any other vintage B&B logo and blend right in - a little subtle, a little sneaky, and a lot scary on further examination! Just don't lean in too close, unless you want a new friend snuggling up to your ribcage ❤️
Handprinted by yours truly and heat set by my sister, who will likely be watching Alien Earth while watching it because she's got a stronger stomach than me for gore. (Chestbursters not included in purchase... maybe.)
Link’s in the bio if you want to book your stay.
Most people remember Dead Space for the jump scares and the Necromorphs.
But underneath the horror, the game is quietly teaching you something about the human body.
For forty hours you’re trained to dismantle it.
Aim for the limbs. Sever joints. Harvest the remains.
Bodies become problems to solve. Resources to process.
And the deeper you go into the trilogy, the stranger the ideas get — ancient alien intelligence shaping evolution, a religion built around transformation, and the promise that humanity’s ultimate destiny is to merge into a single cosmic organism.
What starts as survival horror slowly becomes something else:
a story about whether the body is something sacred… or something that needs to be overcome.
In this video I break down the philosophy and symbolism behind Dead Space, why space horror so often treats embodiment as the problem, and how these ideas show up across modern sci-fi culture.

This is not a story about monsters.
It’s a story about friendship, fear, and growing up in a world that suddenly broke.
And on the other side, someone is always waiting.

The ship arrived without sound. The green arrived before the beam. The green is the announcement. The house was chosen specifically. Specifically is how they choose. The beam decides what things are. The house did not choose back. The house no longer had a choice. The ship confirms everything. Always from above.
