ALSO isa i was wondering if you wanted to talk about your s/i ash?? 👀 id love to know how they fit into mh and how they get along with the other characters and their opinion on the whole Everything going on (also highkey want our s/is to interact even tho raya is very Cryptic)
WELL the like...self-contained mh version of them is a Mysterious Masked Figure (although not one directly involved with totheark [although they get along and cooperate with them]; they operate more old-school, sliding letters under jay’s and later tim’s hotel room doors and leaving tapes under windshield wipers and spray-painting their grievances on alex’s house) who dresses even more like they’ve been living full time in the dumpsters out back of a hot topic than their general slenderverse incarnation. they originally went by a different name but after some thought the fact that most of their distinguishing accessories are cat-themed (paw gloves, cat ear beanie, cat face on their mask) would probably lead to the viewers nicknaming them “kitty”.
back during the actual film production they were usually the one who would do shit like run to the store and get more water or, in the later days when alex had to have a camera rolling at all times, more tapes, and they also served as a backup cameraman on days seth couldn’t make it. this made them enough of a loose end that when everything really went to shit alex tried to kill them. he failed (not that he knew at the time) but they spent a good amount of time in the hospital. fast forward to now, they work with amy and seemingly have no memory of the production beyond “oh yeah i helped some guy film a movie back in college” due to operator influence and rock-to-skull influence. they can’t explain why they keep leaving work and ending up in rosswood park.
even without the mask, once they’re aware of what’s going on they’re kind of nihilistic about the whole thing to the tune of “well either alex will get me or the operator will, so i’m not going to give either of them the satisfaction of seeing me break down and accept my fate” and decide they’re going to fuck them up as much as possible. jay probably got an anonymous letter saying “FUCK YEAH DUDE” after the video of him trying to tackle the operator went up, because they’re cryptic in a very shitpost way. i’m pretty sure i have a post somewhere on this blog that’s about them leaving jay and tim the tape revealing who they are under the mask but wrapping it in a robbie rotten “would you like to” meme.
while it doesn’t register to them how they know everyone until much later on in the series they’re good buddies with brian (there’s even a few tapes of them getting each other out of scrapes) and they like jay enough that they try to help him in the standard weird cryptic way. as for tim...they had a huge crush on him during production and it comes back in full force when they first meet him again during season 2, but that prob goes without saying. and at one point they, unmasked and during the series so they have full memory of it, pushed alex down a flight of stairs and climbed out a second story window to get away once he got back up! it was self defense but also satisfying.
tl;dr happy to have our s/is be friends if raya is ok with having a weird nihilistic friend who commits vandalism, dresses poorly, and pushed the Designated Lesser Scope Villain down a flight of stairs
