Truly enriching/ naturalizing habitats is one of out favourite things to do. This habitat was built in 2010 for a rescue beaver named drifter that couldn't walk on land due to a bum leg, so he spent all his time in the water. This new beaver named cash loves to go for walks and look loves to create his own but in these steps. The water that pours off him was an issue so we quickly added a drain and a water tight basin to collect any water while he's on those steps. Immediately the Beaver noticed and has been working hard to plug up that drain! These Habitats we got to build for @sciencenorth we're a lot of fun to make. Playing with the snakes was less appealing even though they are stunning, and apparently very friendly. That piece of glass @kubikglobal gives a lot of comfort! If you've never been to Science North I can't recommend it enough. Had some fun in the not so sunny evening. I think ee walked akmost 15km in total, "doing the rounds". First there was errands, then #bellpark for the #indianfood / festival. I won a "Mood pencil and candy!", then we walked down the #boardwalk past #sciencenorth and way up #parisstreetart for supplies, then to #timhortons then back to Paris we go, weaving in and out of datkend paths illuminated by the cars and streetlights in the distance. A few spectactular stars were out to accompany the gorgeous cresent moon. Home time, and #netflixandchill with my #bae. Been watching a silly and cute show lately: "#lastmanonearth :) I love my hunny and summer nights. Life is fsr from perfect, but we've got eschother. ♡♡♡ (at Bell Park)

Stop 28: Sudbury, ON
Science North!!!! I had heard so much about Science North, and we had been seeing their booths set up all across northern Ontario. And I was not disappointed. We had an easy set up in “the cavern”, which looked exactly as it sounds like. A large room underground, with natural rock walls. The amazing architecture complemented their exhibits perfectly. I loved that Science North is also an accredited zoo, with beavers, porcupines, bats, frogs, turtles and more! The whole team had such a fun time exploring the science centre.
Did I mention that Science North is located right on Ramsey Lake?! Gorgeous location that we were luckily enough to explore by waterski boat! We spent our whole day off on the water, learning how to waterski, wakesurf and knee board. Of course then we had to spend the whole night recovering with a hot tub/sauna/hot tub/pool/sauna/pool/hot tub/sauna/hot tub/pool combo. Not sure I got the complete order right. And in case that wasn’t enough, Sudbury still had more to offer us! The whole crew got the opportunity to go to SNO lab. A Nobel Prize winning lab that is 2 km underground in an active nickel mine. Such a neat experience to be able to go underground with the miners, then walk a kilometre to the clean lab where we had to shower and put on clean clothes to even enter the lab! Especially fun that we went underground with more from our Innovation 150 team that travelled all the way from the Perimeter Institute as well as our Life Hacks contest winner! We weren’t allowed to bring our phones down to take photos, but here are a few from my action camera:
Sudbury was a lot of fun for us, both socially and at work. We had such a good reception at Science North, busy the entire time we were there with people of all age groups with great questions! Overall, a great stop for the Power of Ideas crew.
