VVCAL 2020 WEEK 4 by @cypresstextiles I know I’ve missed the past two weeks, so sorry about that but I’m here again sharing some wonderful crochet work! Here is week four of #vvcal2020 We have seven wonderful squares allow me to share them with you. Remember this is a modified version because I’ve already done the original now I’m combining all three of her square #vvcal The second picture shows three squares then two squares underneath them. We’ll talk about the three first. They are from previous VVCAL’s. The 2016 VVCAL Denton square is the left square. The middle and far right are from the VVCAL 2018 Maple and Cherry Blossom! Now the bottom two squares and the third picture are from the VVCAL 2020. First is Berlin which is the two bottom squares in the second picture. Then we have Dubai in the third photo! I really love how this blanket is turning out! I’ve used #scheepjescolourpack Stone/River Washed cutie pies for this blanket! HAPPY MAIL! MONDAY Finally I have the Stone/River Wash yarn in my hands. Hehe so excited because I’ve never used it before and this will be used for a VVCAL blanket taking from all three years Mrs @cypresstextiles has created. So excited. However I’ve realized with this order that despite all my great efforts to get all remaining yarn needed for my blankets I forgot one. Yep one little Cotton8 color 671 Rust for my Callie Blanket. After discovering that even though I purchased as the pattern suggested and my measurements are right on target for the motifs of the hexi’s I seem to be short on yarn. So I went and purchased one more skein of each color to only find out today I forgot Rust 671. Now when I ran into being short I did the one thing I thought silly that some makers and creators do, buy a scale and weigh every skein. I found another skein in my bunch is 5 grams short which makes me think it may have happened in other skeins. Yes the things we do for our creations. This year I am managing to use many different Scheepjes Yarns. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to do so. I will get to use these Stone/River Wash yarn, cotton8 yarn, Catona, Whirls, Whirlettes, Bamboo Soft, Sugar Rush, and Colour Crafter! Oh and sooner or later Cagliari, I have the kit for Kaleidoscope Mandala by @hanjancrochet in the jewels colourway! WEEK FIVE SQUARES VVCAL2020 Sydney & Las Vegas City Squares by @cypresstextiles Now we are currently on week 10 heading into week 11 but I’m slow on the photography. Lighting, mood, presentation just sometimes I’m missing one or more of these to photograph. I have all 10 weeks created just not photo opportunities haven’t been so great. I also have a blanket completed but still need to photograph that before mailing. I am working on a few projects at one time. I hope in time you will all enjoy! VVCAL2020 by @cypresstextiles WEEK 3 City Squares are New Orleans and Tokyo Tokyo is one of my favorite squares thus far. It reminds me of a butterfly in several rounds. I’m a sucker for butterflies. The weather has not been very cooperative lately so this may be my final post for a bit until all this rain goes away. It is just sitting and hovering around Texas. I really wanted to put these up but they aren’t as good as they should be. VVCAL 2020 by @cypresstextiles 2nd Week Here we have City Squares (the theme this year) Paris (pink and yellow) and Munich (blue and peach). I loved the fact with each city square Rachele also includes about five city facts of each city! It is really interesting and a nice little bonus! VVCAL 2020 by @cypresstextiles Las Vegas Square This is a really cute, quick, and easy square Rachele gave us this week. However they are so nice you can't help but enjoy yourself making them! Tomorrow she releases week 6 squares, can not wait to make them. I actually started last night working squares from her VVCAL 2018 REBOOT. I am working them with a worstered weight yarn. I'll keep going not sure how it will come out with this change, but I'm trying it regardless. Then to finish hunting down the traveling Afghan squares, see how that fairs with another yarn I have in my stash!
