IDK MAN STILL COULD BE A GOAT-
sasuke: could you possibly be any more annoying 🙄
naruto: i don't know but for you sasuke i could try 😍
As a fun exercise in condescending, conservative authoritarian mindset, I will now do a reading of team RWBY, circa volume 7. I will assume that he actually received the letter from Qrow, or if not, was told relevant info at a later time.
First, we back up to the creation of the fabled ace-ops, who remain the most hilarious surface-reading of rwby and tell us a lot about how Ironwood perceives them.
We got the special one. He's definitely the best because it's not possible I'm affected by his semblance to favor him and perceive him as more competent than he is. Then there's the fast one, there's the emotional tank, a long range rear support, and a generic dps with a convenient gotcha semblance. Oh, I guess I better make that one a pro-establishment faunus. Just like RWBY, hah! My logical method of pairing semblances based on their assumed utility is better than Ozpin's random throw spaghetti in the forest model.
Ruby's really young for her assigned role and is surely following her uncle's guidance. It's a good thing he found those kids out there in the woods. They would have been lost without him. I need to be gentle and patient with her because she's probably feeling pretty overwhelmed, but someday she'll be a confident and experienced leader. More importantly, that magical power of hers is definitely valuable and something that should remain under our control.
It's a shame Weiss didn't join our academy. Winter turned out great and I'm sure her sister would have followed in her footsteps. I would have helped her unlock her full semblance much more efficiently and taught her how to use it more offensively. Being relegated to support must be rough for her, and she's already been traumatized by fleeing her father, being kidnapped and stabbed. I'm sure she'll feel better on familiar ground, here in Atlas, safe from her stubborn father.
I'm not too sure about that Belladonna girl. Not only did it turn out she was faunus, but a terrorist. We've wiped out the White Fang here, so that shouldn't be an avenue for her, but she'll need to prove her loyalty. Qrow says her parents are important and carted a pack of tribal warriors into Mistral and convinced the local police to shut down Taurus and his band, but Menagerie's internal politics aren't really a concern for us. I suppose it makes sense to pair a weak defensive dps with the tank but that's not how it works here.
It's good to see Xiao Long back on her feet, though I hope she isn't hallucinating anymore. Yeah, Qrow says it was that Emerald character, but I'm sure someone must be susceptible or inclined to see imaginary things to be affected. Painting that arm such garish color is a bit much but at least she upgraded it into a proper weapon, and she's a solid tank even if she seems to avoid deploying her semblance. It's far from ideal that she keeps clinging to that unreliable faunus, but given enough time and opportunities for advancement, I'm sure she'll get over it.
All because Ironwood discounts the power of relationships (personal, romantic, sociopolitical and interplay between semblance vs pure combat skills). Ruby is very much the leader, regardless of classic autistic mannerisms and a preference for observation that can be mistaken for shy and childlike. Weiss is damn good at juggling background support, controlling the field by positioning team mates and providing devastating ults when appropriate, relying on others to guard her flanks. Blake's power isn't in her semblance or her array of tactical skills; it's being a charismatic crown agent of Kuo Kuana's chieftain, and ambassador/lieutenant of the White Fang. Yang's a great offensive tank, but an excellent field strategist, though not the marshall Jaune is, which is why she works best when coupled with a tactician.
Atlas is a collection of individual soldiers but rwby +jnor is a collective.

naruto I Perfected The Fourth Hokage's Jutsu uzumaki would be a straight a student if he just turned in his homework
he learns new concepts quicker and quicker as he ages. he learned the multi shadow clone jutsu in like THIRTY minutes after reading a forbidden scroll. he took an incomplete jutsu that multiple high level shinobi were unable to complete themselves, and put the finishing touches on it. he learned sage mode, which is no easy feat.
like i know canonically he did bad at the academy. but that's all on konoha lol naruto is actually incredibly smart but he just has himbo energy and a child soldier's education
