Fashioned from a shoebox, an empty ribbon spool, five toothpicks, and a conveniently sized carpet rod thing (would you ever guess they’re the exact width of an actual shotgun barrel?) is this rough construction of Scout’s scattergun from TF2. Got stuck inside today due to the weather (The windchill was between -16 and -20 degrees!) and surprisingly enough had no pressing tasks so… I started making a fake gun.

The most impressive thing is that I didn’t use an ounce of hot glue since I left my glue gun at a friend’s a while back. Remind me to stop by my firend’s place we haven’t seen eachother in at least a month. Used tacky glue (what a godsend) and painters tape (as you can clearly see) instead.

I plan on paper mache-ing over all the base parts to even out the surface before completely securing the pieces to eachother and painting + addin any other bips and baps like that metal plate at the top of the handle and the lil pop ups on the thing above the barrels (I am no gun expert, I don’t know what they’re called).

Here’re a few pictures of me trying to get a good shot showing that it is in fact realistically proportioned (so, big) and of my disaster desk. I can use a mobile phone with the grace of a grandma… Ask my friend who went into hysterics when I tried searching up a YouTube video to show someone. Or don’t because you don’t know them.

Hopefully I’ll be able to finish this with my time off during the weekend. Fortunately it’s going to reach a toasty 18 degrees on this beautiful Wednesday so no more rainy day crafts for the time being.
