You got any Scarabella/Ladybug Alya fanfics that aren't centered on or around Marinette? Like ones that don't go out of there way to talk about how much better Mari would be/is with the Ladybug? Or have her lurking in the background like "oh Scara and Chat wouldn't have beat this akuma without her." Or have Chat be annoyed with or upset that he's not with Ladybug. 😭 Pls anything that's not like these. 😭
Hm, what about Adrift by @aidanchaser? It's not very long, but it gives a glimpse of a world where Alya's the Ladybug hero and Nino is her Black Cat.
This is something I had originally posted on the @miraculog , however since there wasn't really any Marinette Salt (it was all too vague imo), I've decided to move it here. And I will be deleting the original post from the Miraculog since I can't private it.
Hmmm...okay, here are a few thoughts/ideas (note, these are all written with the assumption Adrien is still Chat Noir):
• Alya: I think Alya would be stoked to hear she was chosen to be a hero at first, but then she'd remember all the hero comics she's read and the seriousness of it all would sink in. That being said, I think she'd be fantastic as Scarabella. We know Alya hates lying and doesn't like keeping secrets. We know that about her. She's said it in the show.
And I think this would ultimately lead to her having a better relationship with Chat Noir than Ladybug ever did. Because she wouldn't keep things from him. He's just as important as she is. Why would his miraculous be brought out, PERMANENTLY, if he wasn't important? Why would his miraculous be considered one of the most powerful, if it actually wasn't?
If Fu wants to train her, he needs to accept that he either has to train Chat as well, or suck up the fact that Scarabella is going to tell Chat about him and what he's teaching her.
Eventually, they do the reveal. And Alya is surprised that Chat Noir is her best friend's crush. Something that is made more awkward if keep Chat Noir's crush on his partner or if he reveals his feelings for someone else (for example Luka or Sabrina). It makes her rethink about what she's done to help Marinette in pursuing him. And may be what leads her to reevaluating their friendship.
• Chloe: When it comes to Chloe, I feel like the majority of AUs where she has the ladybug miraculous she's a bad hero. She's egotistical. She just wants fame. She does nothing to help her partners. And Marinette shines as another hero. And it's fucking annoying. Because, when given the chance, she can be a good hero. She's shown she can be a good hero. So what if she has an ego? Let her have a fucking ego. Not every hero needs to be this ultra serious person.
And I think Tikki would ultimately be a good influence for her. I think she will mess up, just like when she was starting off as Queen Bee. But then she'd prove herself. Prove she can do this. She can be a hero. She definitely doesn't care about learning from Fu, and pushes him to teach Chat Noir, who is more than happy to take on the lessons. He makes sure to keep Chloe in on what he's learning, but he also understands that this part of their job falls on him. He won't keep things from his partner, and if the day comes she does want to learn, he'll be there to help her. The day they reveal their identities solidifies their friendship tenfold. They become closer. A lot closer. And Marinette is either convinced she was right about Adrien being like Chloe or that Chloe was succeeding in stealing Adrien from her.
• Marc: I think he'd be very similar to Marinette at the beginning. He'd panic. Doubt himself. Fail. But the difference comes when he wants to quit. He doesn't. He doesn't quit. He doesn't give his miraculous to someone else. His thoughts are that he can't just ditch Chat Noir like that, and he can't burden someone else with the miraculous. The earrings were given to him. They're his responsibility. So, he keeps using them. He stays back, lets Chat Noir do most of the fighting while he plans how to use his lucky charm. It takes him much longer to grow confidence. To stand taller. He's admitted to Chat Noir that he felt jealous of him. He was able to jump into action so easily. Sometimes it felt like Chat was the hero, and Marc was his sidekick. A thought Chat makes sure to tear down. He was a hero. People looked up to him. Sure, that might sound scary, but he wasn't alone in this. Chat was, and would, be there for him. If Marc needs time to adjust, Chat will gladly be in the front lines. When Marc and Adrien reveal their identities, one of the first things Marc decides is that he'd be to Adrien what Chat Noir was to him. A real, true, friend. And as his friend, he needs to tell him what Marinette has been doing.
• Luka: He gets the job done. Sometimes he wonders if he should of had a different miraculous. He doesn't have problems with the Ladybug. Being Carmine was fun when it wasn't stressful. He liked Adrien. Once he learned he was Chat Noir, things began to make sense. And he wanted their partnership to work out. Master Fu and Tikki might of disagreed with him, but God was it so much easier to work with Chat once they actually got to know each other. Removing the secret identity thing made it so they could actually talk. No need to wait for patrol. They could just, call each other. Luka still wonders what if. What if he had gotten the black cat miraculous and Adrien the ladybug? What if he got a different miraculous entirely? Would things still be the same? Or would they be different. He doesn't think about it for too long, he and Adrien were meeting up. And if Marinette happens to "stumble by" he makes no promises to not be smug about asking Adrien out before her.
Why did the writers call her Rena Bug when Rena Bella was RIGHT THERE
I know we're all freaking out about Marinette and her parents but can we get some Alya appreciation up in this house ⁉️
