What is home really? 

What does it mean? How does one turn a cold, empty rented apartment into a place of power, happiness, calmness?

My Stockholm apartment haven’t always felt like home. Especially at the beginning, when we just moved here. In fact, I got scared of its roughness when I stepped inside for the very first time.

It grew on me. I kept adding the little things that make my heart melt a little. And I cultivated love here. It’s in the air. I know it’s there.

Even though I do not own the place, it’s suddenly a home now. Never noticed the exact moment when it crossed that line. I wonder if there is one at all. 

I am thankful I have a home. Everything before it felt temporary. Minsk, Edinburgh, St Petersburg... Every time I moved I had this tender hope deep inside that this time, maybe, finally it will become my home. But in the end, I moved, and moved, and packed, and caught another flight. 

It wasn’t bad, I wasn’t alone. Every place gave me precious memories to carry forward. Now I’m making new ones. And appreciating every little detail here, because it’s created with love.
