my headcanon for welcome to abyss transpo's sucessful escape attempts is that the common through-line is that the answer is always "what you do not have/what hasn't happened" (like your destination is always something you are lacking, so that's why you're going there.) and the reason the serial killer theme had so many escapees is because the station was named after a serial killer that "hadn't happened yet," and the passengers incorrectly assessed the win condition to be based off "finding the odd one out."
