THE STORY OF KEYS “I wish I didn’t do that” in her 20s, sighing, she said that to herself. *FLASHBACK* It was that time of the year, when monsoons were on its way and the children were enthusiastic because their schools were finally reopening after one month of summer break. She was promoted to fifth standard and was too excited to meet her friends & teachers, she looked forward to go to school and have fun. While she was preparing for the new academic year, her parents asked her to join piano classes as they desired their daughter must develop a skill and learn something new apart from her academics. Soon she started going for her classes, but she hated them to the core. No, her tutor wasn’t strict, infact her piano tutor was the most soft-spoken and sweetest person she had ever met! No, it was not because she had piano classes every day, her tutor was kind enough for keeping them twice a week. It was also not because she found it stressful to manage both academics as well as extracurricular activities, she knew how to keep a balance. But, it was merely because she admired her friend a lot. She wanted to be an exact replica of her friend. Her friend was likeable by everyone, and so even our protagonist wanted to be- she wanted acceptance and love from those around her. She wanted to ‘fit-in’ and be desired by all. Her friend was good at dancing and did not know how to play piano, hence, our dear protagonist too wanted to be good at dancing and not learn the piano. But she wasn’t good at dancing at all! Rather, she was good at understanding the musical notes, playing the keyboard smoothly and she could connect to the keyboard in a better way. Little did she know that each person is unique and has different gifts and talents. She could never be like her friend, and her friend could never be like her. She just couldn’t understand how perfect she is!! But because she wanted to be like her friend, inspite of scoring pretty well in her first Trinity exam, she did not continue her piano classes. Years passed by, and she grew. She grew not just physically, but now, she grew into a much-matured young lady. She wanted to understand herself more and love herself for who she is even if no one did it. And this shift in her life was remarkable! It surfaced the years of suppressed love towards piano. Her passion for piano grew. Being a Christian girl, she loved how piano helped her in intensifying her worship, how the melodious sound of a piano soothed her anxiety, how the touch of keys elevated her optimistic spirit and blurred out every negativity. She came to a point, where, even if you woke her up at midnight and asked her to play something for you, she’d do that happily. Her love for keyboard increased and she understood that this was her strongest point! She wanted to learn more and develop her skills, but it was late. She couldn’t manage both her academics as well as piano classes. She didn’t know how to give equal attention to both the sides. “I wish I didn’t do that,” in her 20s, sighing, she said that to herself. “I wish I continued back then,” she thought. Well, but that never stopped her from learning things on her own and improving herself by observing other pianists around her. Though she may not be at par with others, but she is definitely far better than what she used to be! And this is a small yet a very significant chapter of my life. As I unwrapped myself and loved the way I am, it eventually led me to fall in love with the Keys. A journey of self-acceptance, self-love, which ultimately led to self-discovery. I’ve been playing keyboard for 10 years now, and it still excites me every time I play it. Keyboard/Piano is not just an instrument for me, but it is a part of me. I call it as my best friend – someone who’s seen me cry as well as be joyous, seen me at my lowest and at my highest, through the thick & thin always stood by me, never judged or mocked at me, simply allowed me to be lost in the experience of a magical peace that it has to offer. I wonder what I’d do without a keyboard. I recall, there was a phase when I told myself that I’d marry a guy who would propose me with a grand piano. Of course, I no longer have that demand, lol! But yes, my love for the Keys has increased with every touch and every second I play it. I am reminded of a phrase that someone once told me, “everything in this world has a rhythm.” I believe that everyone has a unique gift and talent resonating within them. It just takes us to identify our unique rhythm that lies within us and consciously walk towards it, to become a dynamite!! No two individuals can be compared, no two talents, instruments as well as the rhythm of an individual justifies comparison – because everyone and everything is unique, special and beautiful in their own way. Pause for a second and think of those things you left halfway or never started something that really interested you, only because you wanted to be like someone else or you wanted to ‘fit-in’ a group. Take the first step today towards unwrapping yourself from the chains of conformities. Love yourself and discover a little more about yourself! Because isn’t it amazing, that there was never and there can never be another you!! The world has YOU for the FIRST TIME EVER, make the best of it!!!

To Love a God (and for a God to Serve)
Hot as the days in the desert my be, the nights are out as cold, maybe more so. The wind which hours ago may burn bone white now blows cold sand across the dunes. It is a good night for killing.
Two figures stand facing one another in the desert outside the city of Camar. One in fine raiment, black with gold buttons and white lining. The other is dressed half so well, and is bound to a rope, held by their finely dressed captor. The captor pushes their hostage to the ground, where their knees dog into the sand. They look to their master, eyes pleading. They do not understand. They ask why.
The captor answers.
Love.
There is no sound as an ornate dagger is slid into the eye socket of the captive, but one could almost imagine the sound of their light sniffing out echoing off of the sand. Their corpse falls silently to the ground.
The finely dressed figure pulls back the dagger, sliding a finger along it’s edge. The scraping noise is accompanied by a low chanting from the weapon’s owner. Moments later, another figure arrives from somewhere else, clad in black so dark it appears to be a void. The sand responds to the figures presence a moment too late, as if it has yet to realize there is weight pressing upon it. The figure stands a foot or more above the finely dressed killer. Neither move for a long moment.
Finally, the killer releases a shaking breath. They take a step forward, but the shadows of the night sky seem to gather before the black-clad figure and violently shove the killer away, sending them sprawling. A sound echoes from the void-black figure. It may have been speech, or it may have been the sound of grinding, breaking bone dragged across jagged stone. The tone, regardless, is enraged. The tall figure slides forward as if falling sideways, stopping abruptly only a foot away from they who summoned it. It looms above them, and the killer again makes to approach, speaking quickly and desperately. Whatever they say, they are able to proceed unimpeded. They stand, putting only inches between the two. Slowly, the killer moves their face closer to that of the otherworldly presence. They kiss the face if death.
The killer stiffens, but does not pull away. As the moments pass, their skull begins to crack and crumble. Soon, there is little mouth left to make contact with death’s visage. Only now does the killer pull away. They reach up a hand and gently stroke death’s face. When their hand is again at their side, a knucklebone is cracked.
They speak again to death, as well as they are able. They ask of death some question. Death dies not answer. It turns, having seemingly forgotten it’s suitor, and glides to the corpse. It kneels, and it’s cloak pools around the body as a fluid. The bones therein glow momentarily, and then are passive again. Death stands again, it’s duty dine. The now disfigured killer stands, unable to leave so soon.
Suddenly, death looks to the city. It glides towards the walls of the settlement, fast as rain. Even as it is moving to harvest again, it turns to the killer and speaks again. With a scream, the killer feels their skull reconstruct itself, piece by rotten piece, until it is the same as it was before. Except, they notice, for a single, nearly invisible crack, which runs from the bottom of their left eye socket to their nose. They look to death, hand in their mouth. They wonder. But the spectre is gone, past the walls of the Prince’s city, gathering some dead citizen.
Sayi, Prince of Camar, begins his walk back to the city. The servants will ask where one if their ranks has gone, when morning comes.

And here we have Sayi! I could give a paragraph telling you about him, but I'll summarize with humorous bullet points: • the hot one • knows it • knows the words to every Prince song • #justgayboythings • has a thing for The Grim Reaper • will kill you for fun • unless yure taller than him, and a man • in which case he turns from arrogant, sexy royalty into puddle of need • thirsty • secretly a sub • roots for Malfoy • is Malfoy • drinks rare Indonesian coffee made by grinding the seeds of endangered trees between the teeth of a Thai fisherman and filtered through the tears of his enemies • with 2 cubes of sugar
When Yi Sang was passed out asleep on the floor, Gubo was allowed to have conversations with Sang Yi. The chatter from the other side of the mirror as Yi Sang slept was bothersome to Gubo, especially how, more often than not, he always fell victim to the reflection's teasing. Particularly, Sang Yi has taken a liking to commenting on how much stockier he has been getting, from being tall yet as thin as a wisp to trying to hide the bulk of his stomach under that big jacket of his. He couldn't even deny Sang Yi's words because it was true in the end, and the look on his eyes as he looked him up and down before making his remarks always made warmth coil up in Gubo's stomach.
