Fan: What song would you choose for Buddie’s first kiss? Or would you prefer no song at all?
Moderator: [Translates using the word ASMR]
Ryan Guzman: Is that what you want? You want ASMR? Some lip smacking? Yeah?
M: Sorry.
Oliver Stark: You’re not sorry, don’t lie [laughs]. I’m gonna say bo song, so you can hear the sound of the rain.
RG: You know that song [starts singing] This magic moment? That one.
OS: Thank you so much for your question.
Fan: [Indistinguishable] Buck hasn’t told Eddie everything… His sister implying that he’s in love with Eddie or that he’s the competition. What would Eddie’s reaction be to knowing that Buck offered himself up to get Bonnie and her husband to not go after Eddie when he was close?
RG: I’m sorry, I just got lost.
OS: Sorry, I got you [Fan]. She said in the episode where I got kidnapped, I said to them like “No, don’t go after Eddie, take me, I’ll be Derek”. She said, what would Eddie’s reaction be to Buck, like, sacrificing himself?
RG: He’d probably go into, like, a mad rage, to be honest. That’s when you see old Eddie come out, maybe the Rambo-style Eddie from Afghanistan and then [indistinguishable] to find Buck.
Fan: If they were bringing back Taylor Kelly, if being strictly friends, no romantic, what do you think that dynamic would be?
OS: Yeah, I enjoyed that, like, banter between them. I like that they are these partners in chaos. I can’t remember what we did, but didn’t we get arrested or something once? Oh, no, we [gestures to Ryan] got arrested by Athena.
F: Yeah. During the treasure hunt too.
OS: Yeah. I like this kind of double act they were. Like, she gets the information, we’ll fight the crimes… We’re not doing this, we don’t fight crimes [Audience laughs]. I’ve seen the show, I promise. So, yeah, I like this kind of chaos banter back and forth between the two of them.
F: Ryan, do you have thoughts for Eddie?
RG: What would he feel if Taylor Kelly [indistinguishable]?
Fan: With all of the time jumps that happen in the show, are there any storylines or moments that happened to your character during a time jump that you wish could’ve been explored on screen?
RG: There are [indistinguishable] before. There was a point where we might’ve been working towards Eddie switching jobs a little bit and going- [Audience complains]. You might not like this, but I was gonna work with Athena for a little bit [Audience complains]. Yes? No? [Oliver boos and Audience joins] I don’t think they like Eddie as a cop. [Indistinguishable] cool. It’s, like, bringing some of Eddie’s old Afghanistan journey. We’ve never seen him in, you know, being combative other than being in Afghanistan, so revisiting that, bring PTSD back, bringing so many other things he struggled [inaudible].
OS: My advice would be, don’t take the timing on the show too seriously. You know, it’s like, it’s been three months… Has it? It’s been six months… Has it? So, like, sometimes you just gotta take it for what it is.
F: Imagine if Season 2 Eddie has met Buck 1.0. How do you think Eddie would’ve reacted to this? Like, for example, do you think he would’ve trusted him with Chris like he did in Season 2?
OS: Well, my answer to this is - [Audience laughs].
F: Well, you can say how Buck would’ve reacted.
RG: Absolutely not, he would never trust him with Christopher. He was stealing fire engines, is sleeping with half the town. You guys might trust him, but I wouldn’t trust him and Eddie wouldn’t trust him.
F: So, there is no will anymore?
OS: He should be way out of the will, it’d be a different story.
Fan: Do you guys remember when you first met and what was your first impression of each other?
OS: So, yeah… I had just been about to buy a Jeep, sorry for anybody here who has a Jeep, and I thought “Jeep owners are kinda assholes”. And then I pulled up, it was for a promo shoot, and there is this Jeep parked outside. And I’m like “Whose car is this?”. And it turned out to be his [Ryan].
RG: Go ahead and tell them what you used to call me when you didn’t know me.
OS: Oh, yeah. So, before we started Season 2, we knew somebody knew was coming in, but we didn’t know who it was. So, we didn’t have a character name or an actor, but we knew that he was, like, meant to look like this [points at Ryan]. So, me and Kenny, we were working out together and, like, use it as motivation. We wanted to look as good, so we named him Carmine, so we would work out and be like “Fuck Carmine”.
RG: And then I showed up. To be honest, it was such a warm welcoming [laughs]. I didn’t know any of this. So, when I first met him, he was really nice and, yeah, I felt like I was the odd man out, so I felt like “Oh, man, how do I come into a working show that already clearly everybody loves?”. So, I was just trying to get along with everybody and everybody just, yeah.
Fan: We see Buck having a lot of new tattoos this season, especially in Nashville, and also Eddie has tattoos, and we never talked about it in character. So, I was wondering, what would be Eddie’s and Buck’s motivations for getting their tattoos? Like, we know it’s your tattoos, but also, we heard that you decide which ones are shown.
OS: Yeah.
F: So, is there in-character thought about this? And, because I like pain, apparently, does Buck have a tattoo for Bobby? [Audience coos]
OS: So, yeah, you stole my answer. That Buck has a tattoo for Bobby.
F: What about Eddie?
RG: So, I didn’t know that we could choose which ones were in the show. When I showed up, they looked at my tattoos and were like “Yeah, that one, that one, we’re hiding that one, the ones on my hand… Yeah, this one, it’s gonna fit, actually, you know, for Eddie”. This one’s “Find a way”, this one says “Strengthen the mind, overcome the body”. That kind of feels like Eddie.
F: Before or after Afghanistan?
RG: This is after, for sure. And since he comes from a Mexican family, it seems like they would disown him for a little bit… But he does have a 118 right there [gets up, turns sideways and gestures to his lower back].
Fan: Does anybody know that Buck is in Eddie’s will to take care of Christopher, and do you think Buck will write Eddie in his when he eventually adopts Theo?
RG: He better.
OS: You better prove yourself. I don’t think anybody else knows. It hasn’t come up, has it?
Audience: No.
OS: What about… Are you sure?
A: Yes!
OS: But I remember something, like, there was a heat wave and you were, like, sleeping in the firehouse… Maybe I’m imagining that scene. No, it was like, you say something like “You can’t be so reckless”… Did I make this up?
A: Yeah! [Ryan and Oliver laugh]
OS: You know, are you sure? I think that’s a scene, we should watch the show. Put it on! Episode… I think he would put Eddie in his will, yeah, sure.
