The role of the shark in our oceans is to keep our ecosystems healthy and in balance! This is critically important as over 50% of the air we breathe and over 70% of the food we eat comes from our oceans! Without sharks our Oceans would collapse and this would cause our own demise as well! So why have we allowed shark populations to collapse? Greed for money! Although our species claims to be intelligent, we are the only species that destroys our only home! Presently over 90% of the large sharks are already gone and over one third of the shark species are listed with some type of endangered status. We must end their needless slaughter! We must let our oceans heal! Image by @Jim_abernethy // I'm very grateful for many many things in my life that have influenced me strongly, such as learning to Scuba Dive, becoming an ecotourism shark expedition leader, becoming a professional photographer/cinematographer/drone pilot, learning how to give passionate presentations and influencing so many of my friends into a life of conservation! However the most inspiring thing by far to me is my lifetime conservation achievements for all the sharks and wildlife I fight for. All the skill sets I acquired were to help the sharks and other wildlife! My drive to help all creatures is the driving force for all my efforts in everything I do! It may seem strange to many of you that my life is most fulfilling working for animals that can't thank me or pay me for my efforts, however for me being in service for those in need of help, without expecting anything in return is my life's purpose!
