The shallow 7.7-magnitude earthquake on March 28

flattened buildings across Myanmar, killing more

than 2,700 people and making thousands more

homeless.

Myanmar's military council has denied international access in response to the earthquake situation.

လူပေါင်းထောင်ချီသေဆုံး ပျောက်ဆုံး ပိတ်မိနေဆဲဖြစ်သော မြေငလျင်နှင့်ပတ်သက်ပြီး နိုင်ငံတကာမှ သတင်းထောက်များက သတင်းရယူနိုင်ရန်အတွက် တောင်းဆိုနေမှုကို စစ်ကောင်စီက မတ်လ ၃၀ ရက်နေ့က ငြင်းဆိုလိုက်သည်။

On March 30, the military council denied requests from international journalists to cover the earthquake that resulted in thousands of deaths and missing persons.

အင်အား ၇.၇ ဖြင့် အင်အားပြင်းထန်စွာ လှုပ်ခတ်ခဲ့မှုကြောင့် ပျက်စီးဆုံးရှုံးမှုကြီးမားသော ငလျင်အခြေအနေကို နိုင်ငံတကာသတင်းဌာနများက မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်းသို့ လာရောက်ကာ သတင်းရယူခွင့် တောင်းဆိုနေကြခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး စစ်ကောင်စီဘက်က ပယ်ချလိုက်ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

The military council has denied requests from international media outlets to cover the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, citing a lack of water, electricity, and hotel accommodations.

”လာတာ၊ နေတာ၊ တည်းတာ၊ ခိုတာ၊ ထိုင်တာ၊ သွားတာ၊ လာတာ အဆင်မပြေနိုင်ပါဘူး။ ဒါလေးကိုတော့ အားလုံးသိရှိထားစေလိုပါတယ်” ဟု မတ်လ ၃၀ ရက်ညပိုင်းက သတင်းဌာနအချို့ကို ပေးပို့သည့် အသံဖိုင်တွင် စစ်ကောင်စီပြောခွင့်ရ ဇော်မင်းထွန်းက ဆိုသည်။

Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for the military council, stated in an audio file sent to several news outlets on the evening of March 30, "It is not convenient to come, stay, sit, or go. I want everyone to be aware of this."

စစ်ကောင်စီဘက်က ထိုကဲ့သို့အကြောင်းပြန်ကြားချက်အပေါ်နိုင်ငံတကာမှသတင်းထောက်တစ်ဦးက “ စစ်ပွဲတွေ၊ ဘေးအန္တရာယ်တွေကြားမှာ သတင်းရယူပြီး သတင်းတင်ဆက်နေကြတဲ့ သတင်းသမားတွေကို စစ်ကောင်စီဘက်က အကြောင်းပြချက်ပေးတဲ့အချက်တွေအပေါ်ကို နားမလည်နိုင်အောင်ဖြစ်မိတယ်။ ကျွန်တော်တို့သတင်းသမားတွေက အဲ့လိုကိစ္စတွေကို ဂရုမစိုက်ပါဘူး။ ဖြစ်ပျက်နေတဲ့အမှန်တရားတွေကိုပဲ ကမ္ဘာကို တင်ပြနိုင်ဖို့ပဲ အရေးကြီးပါတယ်”ဟု မှတ်ချက်ပေးသည်။

In response to the military council's statements, an international journalist remarked, "I find it difficult to grasp the reasons the military council provides to reporters covering war and disaster. Journalists prioritize reporting the truth about what is happening to the world, not these explanations."

Seven security personnel were killed as the military council bombed Naung Cho following an earthquake. The council targeted three areas declared under a state of emergency after the quake.

လေကြောင်းတိုက်ခိုက်မှုကြောင့် ဒေသခံအချို့ ထိခိုက်မှုရှိတယ်လို့ ကြားသိရပြီး အရေအတွက် အတိအကျကိုတော့ မသိရသေးဘူးလို့ ဒေသခံအချို့က ပြောပါတယ်။

Some locals reported hearing that some residents were impacted by the airstrike, but the exact number is still unknown.
