Hey instead of just canceling your Paramount plus subscription, put that money you were spending to good use by donating to npr and pbs
Only about $1.60 per tax paying us citizen was being spent on public broadcasting per year.
Donating $1.60 per month would make up for the loss of budget from 12 taxpayers. If you donate your paramount plus subscription of $7.99 you are making up for the money spent on it from 60 tax payers per year!
If you had the 12.99 subscription? You are making up for the loss of budget that would have come from nearly 100 people.
If just ten people do a donation of 12.99 per month, that makes up for the taxes of 900+ people. Imagine if 100 people did monthly donations? And that's JUST if you do 12.99$ a month.
Consider donating.
Support PBS by giving to the PBS Foundation or by donating to your local station.
Hell npr has a special bonus service if you do 8$ a month^^^^
Cancel some subscriptions you don't use and do this instead.
A reminder with PBS being defunded that it is SO MUCH MORE than PBS Kids. It broadcasts educational shows about science, history, current events, nature, art and so much more, instructional television for cooking and home improvement, British shows that might not be available in the states if it wasn’t for PBS, theatre productions, indie productions that PBS gives an opportunity to broadcast they might not get otherwise, and all that’s not even mentioning NPR!!!!! Losing PBS would not only be losing nostalgic shows like Sesame Street and Arthur, but shows for teens and adults who might not be able to afford other channels as well, and THAT is one of the many reasons why it’s so important to fight for it. The link below is a form that lets you send a message to your lawmakers to not defund the extremely important resource to millions that is PBS!!!!!
Save your local stations. Email your Members of Congress now!

First photo is my contribution to savepbszine.
Link to view the full zine is in their bio. The project came out incredible.
PBS Kids has been a staple to my house and is still running in it today. I hope it survives this administration…
Americans, if you donate at least $60 to PBS, you get access to Passport, their streaming service.
The $60 can be a one time donation (access for a year) or $5 a month. (Or of course, you donate more if you have it.)
Passport streams all the PBS programming, so documentaries, mysteries, musical programs, and news that you can get through PBS. Like Grantchester or Wolf Hall or other period dramas, or Ken Burns docs, or cooking shows, travel shows, Lucy Worsley stuff, mysteries, Jane Austen. All the nerdy things!
You also will occasionally get notices about local events where you, as a PBS member, can get in free or discounted to museums or concerts in your area.
This is just a bonus. You can also just donate whatever, whenever you feel like it.
You select a local PBS station but your donation goes across the entire system. You can do monthly or one time.
Also some employers will match donations. Your employer might!
