Community erupts into violent protest because they heard that their children were being sexualized.

They didn't ask the staff. They didn't read the book. They simply listened to the gossip and the gossip was wrong.

And if the gossip had been accurate, the outrage might actually be justified. But the gossip wasn't accurate, and they didn't do the homework, and people got hurt.

I'd like every last person who has ever gotten VIOLENTLY ANGRY at someone within their community and ostracized them because of gossip to take a hard fucking look at themselves right now.

Because the take-home is not that you are a better person than those homophobes.

Saticoy Shooting--16 year old juvenile arrested for attempted murder

On August 30, 2015, patrol deputies from the Headquarters Patrol Station responded to the 11000 block of Azahar Street reference a shooting that had just occurred. The victims were a 30 year old male and 24 year old female. A description of the suspect was broadcasted to the responding patrol units. Deputies quickly spotted a suspect on a bicycle matching the description of the shooting suspect. After a quick foot pursuit the suspect was taken into custody on Aster Street. A handgun was recovered next to the male juvenile who is16 years old and is also a documented gang member.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit and Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau also responded to the scene to investigate. The crime scene was processed which contained evidence of a shooting.

The male juvenile was lodged into the Juvenile Justice Facility for the following charges: 664/187 PC Attempted Murder, 246 PC Shooting at inhabited dwelling, 29815 PC Possession of Firearm, 29820 PC Ward of the court commit specific offense with firearm, ad 30305(a)(1) PC Possession of ammunition by prohibited person.
