Obaluaye or Sanponna is an Irúnmolè that is strongly associated with infectious disease and healing in the Yorùbáland and also associated with epidemics of smallpox, leprosy etc. In ancient Oódua-Yorùbá till date, whenever pandemic like Corona-Virus is flying around, it is what they do used to call upon to wade away all forms of viruses, dis-eases..etc. All Oódua-Yorùbá towns and cities still have this Irúnmolè anchorages around.
