🥪 Sloppy Joe: Messy, Bold, and Packed with Character

You’ve probably seen my recent posts and change in bio and thought “oh Lord, here we go,” “typical,” or some other passive aggressive, not-so-happy-for-me self inflicted poison. And that’s okay, I won’t feel any kind of way if you stay, lurk and loathe, or go. I know this comes off weird to anyone who has known me personally at some point, or if you think you’ve known me from previous shenanigans, but this is what God has put on my heart for a while, and it wouldn’t do Him any justice if I kept holding it off.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be that wife/mom you saw on tv. The one that baked, cooked, and loved her family wholeheartedly. She spoke softly, loved God, kept there home nice and cozy, and always made people feel welcomed and cared for as if they were right at home. She had the husband and children who absolutely adored her, and their friends thought they were so lucky. So blessed.

And although I naturally possess some of the attributes that make up how amazing I’ve always thought this woman to be, I didn’t grow up learning how to be this nurturing, God fearing woman. I had to learn, and I’m still doing so.

But in the beginning phases, it was a little frustrating. In a culture and literal generation of women who look down upon other women who desire this kind of lifestyle, I didn’t know who to talk to about it, where to start. Most of my peers frown at this kind of thing, and quite a bit of older people tend to feel the same. Not to mention people that share my reflection and how they often reject this notion the hardest (I’ve had my fair share of being called a “pick me” or “yes man” already)

And that’s when social media became useful to me again 🤣
