@sanctuarymade sent: " hey... come on now, don't get all upset and worried. it's not my first time taking a bullet. this is nothing, trust me. " from charlie
she looks at the woman like she’s absolutely mad. granted, jemma knows exactly where she’s coming from; she knows this is far from the first bullet charlie’s ever taken. but it doesn’t stop the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach or the heaviness weighing on her chest, the mild terror she felt when she saw the blood seeping through charlie’s clothes. immediately, she slipped into worrying, and that’s what’s led to this situation now, being fussed at for her to not fuss.
she knows charlie would be worrying if the situations were reversed.
“i can’t help being worried, charlie. you know that.” gentle hands reach out, lightly touching the area around the injury as she examines the other woman. she’s incapable of it, really. can’t think of the last time she wasn’t worried about something. and while she has plenty of things to worry about at the moment ( like having just been shot at, or being chased as a whole, or any of the plethora of things having happened over the past few hours, for starters ), it’s helpful to have something to focus on rather than a general sense of impending doom. “let me take a look at it, at least. i am a doctor, you know. could at least make sure you’re… you’re patched up enough until you can be properly looked at.”
