The Story of Sam the Viking:
Many, many years ago, in England (I was stationed there for two years in the Air Force) I was riding in the back seat of a good friend's car, next to her 2-year-old (I think?) daughter. I became aware that the little one was saying "Sam" over and over, and then started tugging at my sleeve insistently, saying, "Sam! Sam!"
Me: "Pam? Do you know why Amber thinks my name is Sam?"
Mother: "Nope"
Me: "Do you know anybody named Sam?"
Mother: "Nope"
Me: "Well I guess I'm Sam now"
It stuck. There are friends, including her, who still call me Sam.
The same friend, still in England, took me to a "psychic faire". Big gathering of a bunch of different sorts of fortune tellers and the like. I thought the whole thing was silly, but she was interested, so we went. She paid to have my palm read. Among other things, the lady said I was a Viking in a past life, and had a strong connection with them. This was true for many reasons, and that stuck, too, and I've been Sam the Viking ever since.

YO! 40 - Have you ever walked outside completely naked? - Not since I was a really little kid. I used to hate clothes in the summer when I was small but I tend to be always covered up now. 57- Do you believe in true love? - Interesting one. Yes and no? I don’t think there’s just one person for everyone and that that’s your perfect person but I think you can truely love someone with everything and no expectation of recieveing that love back, that’s true love to me. 61 - Is it cute when a boy/girl calls you baby? - I mean it obviously depends on context but as a pet name? Absolutely, if we’re flirting or dating then call me baby all you want, I’ll be your baby so long as they’re cool with getting called it back <3 62 - What makes you happy? - That’s a big question. Lots of things really, the people I care about, feeling productive, being busy and being with people I love. I’m a big sucker for physical affection so that makes me super happy. The whole pandemic thing has been rough for me from that aspect because I miss seeing my friends and cuddling the shit out of them <3

I did one of these yesterday, so I won’t tag 10 more people, but here are five more things that make me happy.
Critters. I love just about every time of animal imaginable. (I’m not super crazy about close contact with spiders, but I can appreciate the job they do and the incredible beauty of their webs.)
Waking up in a clean space. I feel so much more in control when my environment is neat and not a drag to look at.
Quiet mornings. I love the still of the world before everyone is up and it’s just me and the early light.
Music. My tone can be set for the day by what I’m listening to. It’s got such peer over my mind and soul. It’s a drug and I crave it. There’s always a song playing in my head. It’s some of the best memories of old friends and past lovers. Even when the relationship goes sideways, I’ll count it as a blessing if they introduced me to some music which speaks to my heart. It will always remind me of them, but only in the fondest sort of light.
Pasta. I fucking love carbs. It’s a problematic relationship, but I’m working on making it healthier.
