Sitting in a lawn chair out on the fairgrounds in front of the big top, Dean had watched the tent across the street go up for the past hour. What were these people possibly thinking? No one went to revivals anymore -- not in big cities like this, at least.

When it was finally up, a young blonde woman emerged from it.

“So what’s your plan, miss? To gather up all the poor souls comin’ to my circus and take even more of their money?” Dean called across the way, unable to disguise his amused smirk.

“Because I have an uncanny mastery of mind control?”

John had heard of this faith healer two states over. Some claimed he was the true-blue real deal; some said he was a low-down dirty con.  Truth be told, john had never encountered a faith healer who had the light of God. Some were cons, and others, well. The healing didn’t come from anywhere good.

If this Jonas was a conman, that wasn’t any of John’s business. Who was he to call out a man on how he made his living? Faith healing seemed lucrative. more lucrative than demon hunting, anyway. But if this Nightingale character was getting power from an unsavory source, that was John’s business.

so he slipped himself into the tent, watching the preparations for the show. A small woman with a clip board and a headset was directing traffic. He watched her give the choir their cues and then pull a man-Jonas, John assumed; he had that preacher man look- off for a chat. He couldn’t hear their conversation, but there was an interplay between them that was interesting. jonas was teasing, playful. The blond was slightly annoyed, but not unamused. There was a certain intimacy about them, too, a way they excluded the rest of the room from their conversation. It wasn’t the intimacy of lovers, though; it was more than that. Deeper. The way she looked at Jonas put John in mind of the way Sammy used to look at Dean. The way a younger sibling always worshipped a big brother who looked out for them.

Interesting.

Elliot furrowed his brow in silent thought before shrugging and answering.

“Yeah. That... that’s probably true. Let’s just say I avoid churches, then. Just for now.”

[-cackles madly- I think I’ve just been waiting for a chance to talk about Angela, negl. Her babies are drmattcrower | this one here, ms sam-nightingale | and another muse of her’s which I will not list, but will discuss briefly. (I’m not sure how you feel about me listing it, hon.)

So, Matt first. I have this top five list of AG characters. You can probably easily guess how that list goes, at least the top three. Now for a while that list was only four characters, though occasionally the good doctor who indeed make his way on it. By the time I came across Angela and her writing, he had easily become the fifth. Then, gradually, as I started reading more and more of her threads and headcanons, Matt actually came to replace Caleb as fourth. And if I’m being entirely honest, sometimes he even contests with Ben for the third spot: which is difficult as hell to do, because I effing love Ben Healy. But he does, and this is Angela’s doing. She is the first thing that comes to mind whenever I’m watching AG and Matt pops up, and I remember every thread of her’s I’ve had the privilege of reading.

Angela has a way with Matt that’s just utterly incredible. She’s a fantastic writer, and it shows clearly in all of her work on each of her blogs, but man, she made me think about Matt. Things that I would frown at Matt for before, I stopped and actually started seeing it from his side. (Specifically, I am referring to how Matt treats Caleb in ‘Potato Boy’.) Like, he tries SO HARD. He really does, and he’s so overworked. He does this to himself, and with the past he’s had, can you really blame him? Better than he throw himself into his work than slip into madness.

But I wouldn’t have even really stopped to think about these things, seriously consider them, if it hadn’t been for Angela. She cares so much about Matt, it’s amazing to see. Even her headcanons are brimming with love and detail, and it’s a pleasure to write alongside her.

Now, Sam. I’m going to talk about her from over on Reese’s blog, and from what I myself have seen. I’m not familiar with Leap of Faith, but I get Sam thanks to Angela. She’s got so much sass and spunk, but underneath there’s a lot of heart. And it can be selfish, sure, but man, she loves her people wholly, and that’s something I adore reading. As for Reese, he still doesn’t know what to make of his unplanned little wife - part of him has to admit - the part that knows the truth of that blurry night, anyway - that she got him good. And he can even respect it. And I’m looking forward to where else these two might go!

The unnamed muse, on the other hand, is currently managing to charm the hell out of Seth over on his blog. It was funny, because he went into that whole thing expecting to be his usual asshole self, but now, if it’s not noticed, he’s actually trying to chat her up. She just intrigues the hell out of him. And from my perspective, she’s so refreshing, and I adore her ability. It’s so cool! One of my favorite characters on Heroes had this same ability, and the way Angela writes it - always paying attention to every detail - is fantastic. I was so secretly pleased that she used it on Seth.

Angela herself is an absolute doll. She is so incredibly sweet, and I think everyone who’s had the chance to write with her knows this. She’s very welcoming and warm, and generally friendly. It’s a treat! :D
