I know what you mean, I’m seeing it Friday night after work. I’ve read spoilers on this particular moment, and other intensely emotional scenes, and I just know it’s gonna break my heart. It’s funny, cuz here I was thinking several years ago, when I first heard they where re-making the 1990 tv mini-series, I was strongly against it cuz that thing is a cult classic and I didn’t want them to ruin it like so many other horror movie remakes; I remember watching it on tv when it aired for the first time in 1990 and although it’s fucking cheesy now, it’s still a vital part of my childhood. Now that I’ve seen the 2017 movie, and now this upcoming chapter 2, I’m RELIEVED they’ve remade it, and I’m SO excited for Friday... but I’m not mentally or emotionally prepared for the severity of the pain this thing is gonna cause me. The original mini-series was far from emotional (especially part 2, which was the worst IMO) and now knowing that we’re not only getting a 2hr 45 minute chapter 2 this week, but a chapter 2 that’s so heavily focused on the characters and their relationships and the emotions... I’m not ready.
