Yeah get ready for some totally random ass posts. My brain is fixating on like... 5 different things at the same time right now sorry 🙃

Waylon never stood a chance at a normal life - he was born a terrifying reptile monster. So he ends up back in prison and runs into this bastard who actually had that normality, but took it and threw out the fucking window. Because Sameer wanted to be a horrific reptilian creature. But he was born a regular human, just a bit more flexible than the others (my headcanon is that he watched Alien as a kid and got the worst case of dysmorphia ever). So he went through tons of surgeries and spent a fortune to get a metal jaw and the ability to spit acid venom at people (because plain acid wouldn't cut it, I guess).

Random thought: Sameer Park's version of copperhead is entirely synthetic. Cybernetic enhancements, toxic spray, he chose to become Copperhead.

So what if some mad scientist becomes obsessed with that idea?

Except he wants a genuine version, biological experimentation creating the perfect cross of snake and woman. So, as mad scientists do, he kidnaps a woman. Several women. It takes trial and error before he creates his perfect vision in you, the college student he snatched off of the streets on night.

Your skin is an odd hue with scales here and there, your fangs are sharp and shining and claws just as deadly, eyes golden with a vertical slit.

You are perfect.

Absolutely perfect.

And you hate it, eventually killing your creator and his colleagues before fleeing into the night. You remain in hiding for some time, eventually coming to have friends and allies in other "freaks" people who understand your situation and don't look at you funny. But it isn't long until Copperhead hears whispers about you and becomes entranced.

Everything about you sounds glorious, beautiful, a perfect mate made just for him!

That fucker had no right to be that hot but they made him hot anyways. And I'm grateful for that.

The animators give us this and then kill him?! KILL FUCKING HARLEY QUINN SHE IS USELESS! AT LEAST HE FOUGHT FOR THE TEAM AND SAVE THEM 3 TIMES!!!! FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

Green Arrow Villains - Copperhead

So I know what you’re thinking; “Copperhead is not a green arrow villain, he’s a Batman villain!” This is true! However, he hasn’t had much connection to Batman in recent years, and doesn’t really have the Gotham vibe with how classic goofy comic book villain he is. If anything he should be branded under Justice League since his appearances are sporadic across titles. Thing is Copperhead isn’t a huge threat so he deserves to occupy someone’s rogues gallery.  There was one episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold where green arrow thwarted Copperhead stealing a gem or something, and for whatever reason that extremely brief scene stuck with me. Since then, I’ve always considered Copperhead a great addition to Green Arrows cast of villains. So that’s where he ends up for me. 

I started out with the expectation to do a little more redesign to his costume because it really is ridiculous. But after analyzing him, its really easier said than done, because the huge snake helmet and tail is his whole character, and removing that is really removing his character. Other redesigns have really failed to capture the true essence that is copperhead. Arkham origins went too realistic, and thus kinda bland, and the New 52 took the easy way out and made him a were-snake which I also find lame. There was a brief period (Post crisis?) where he had this long snake-tail hood, which was ok, but that’s Crimson Fox’s look so he can’t have it. Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay is the only redesign that I think really captured him with a complete design overhaul, and I really like that look, but it lacks the goofiness that I love about comics. Therefore I stuck with the classic design for my version.

If you actually read that entire dissertation, I love you for it! I rant about DC characters here because my friends don’t give a shit. I especially love giving my thoughts on super niche D-listers.
