A/N: This was a request.
"You've been thinking a lot lately, haven't you?"
"Huh?" Samatoki glares at you from the corner of his eye as you join him on the balcony of your shared apartment. A lit cigarette hangs loosely from his lips.
You shrug and mirror his position, resting your forearms on the balcony railing. "I'm just saying. Almost every night I find you out here, smoking and you staring out at the ocean. You're not even really smoking your cigarette most of the time. So I just assumed you were thinking about something."
He just lets out a grunt at your observation and turns back to the view before the two of you. You take a moment to dwell in the silence. You could ask him what he's thinking about, but Samatoki isn't one to be very forthcoming with details. Besides, you were pretty sure he would shut down any line of questioning you had for him. So you kept quiet and waited for him to say something.
A few minutes later, he groans and stomps out his cigarette. "Are you just going to stand there?"
"Why? Do you want me to talk to you?"
"You're always talking so I thought you'd be trying to talk my ear off again." He grunts.
"Well I didn't want to bother you."
He scowls at your words before turning to face you, leaning on his elbow against the balcony railing. "You look like you're thinking now. What's on your mind?"
You shrug and face him. "I'm just wondering what's on your mind."
Samatoki doesn't respond right away. He just stares at you for a moment and shakes his head. "It's nothing. Don't worry your pretty little head over me."
"Aww, you think I'm pretty." You tease him, playfully punching his shoulder.
"Shut up."
"I thought you wanted me to talk your ear off?"
"Are you always this obnoxious?"
"Only when I'm bored." You sigh and lean further on the railing next to you. "I want to do something with you. Maybe get you out of your head for once."
He scoffs, but glances at you with a curious look in his eye. "What did you have in mind?"
"I don't know." You shrug. "We could go out to eat, or go see a movie, or we just order take out and talk. Hell, we could make out for all I care!"
He raises an eyebrow at your words. "What was that?"
"We could make out for all I care." You double down, already anticipating where this was going.
With a sly grin, Samatoki takes a step forward, wraps an arm around your waist, and pulls you close to his chest. He smirks at you before leaning in close, "I think that sounds like a great idea."
You nod. "Well let's do this inside. It's freaking cold out here!"
"Whatever you say, pretty." He teases, before gently pulling you inside.
As soon as the two of you are inside your shared apartment, you sit down on the couch. You curl your finger towards him, beckoning to get closer and join you on the couch. As soon as he's next to you, Samatoki gives you one more devilish grin before smashing his lips to yours.
Of course he's fast and impatient with his kisses. He wants nothing more than to be completely wrapped up with you. And you let him take the upper hand in the beginning. You found that letting him get all of this impatient energy eventually led to him slowing down and kissing you like he means and not just for the sake of kissing you. He was rough and forceful, but it was nothing you couldn't handle. You've been with him long enough to understand how he works.
The bruising grip on your face begins to weaken and kisses start to slow. He leans back into the couch, ready for you to do all the work now. And you are more than happy to oblige. Slowly, you slip into his lap, straddling his thighs. He rests his arms on the back of the couch as you cup his face in your own hands. You can feel him grinning like an idiot as your tongue explores his mouth. You almost want to roll your eyes, but keep your exasperation to yourself. He can be annoying, but that doesn't mean you don't still love him.
Eventually, the little air you've managed to get during your impromptu make out session begins to get to you and you have to pull away. You're both panting and his lips are swollen from the kissing. Still, you can tell from the satisfied gleam in his eyes that he's happy.
"You're too good to me, you know that?" He mutters, his voice raspy and low. "Love it when you kiss me like that, pretty."
"Mmm, me too." You hum in response, resting your wrists on his shoulders. "What do you say we do this again?"
"How about in the bedroom this time?"
Before you can even agree to him, he picks you up in one swift movement. You can't help but let out a gasp that turns into a fit of giggles. "Only kissing, got it? You keep your hands to yourself, mister!"

Summary: You love this dive bar not too far from your office. It's your little sanctuary away from everything. And your little spot of paradise has just been disrupted by a certain yakuza man...

It was your favorite place to go when you needed to get away and relax. The little hole-in-the-wall dive bar had everything you needed: excellent drinks, good food, charming regulars, and a chill vibe. It was everything you needed after a stressful day at work.
Especially on a day like today.
It was pouring, soaking anyone who went outside to the bone, even if you had an umbrella. You also just put in two hours of overtime at your job and were exhausted. That's why as you were leaving the office, you could hear the sound of a cool drink and some old music calling your name from across town. You braved the storm to get to your favorite dive bar and order your favorite drink to make you feel better.
"Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" The crotchety old bartender chuckled as he saw you. "The usual?"
"Double it. I need something strong tonight." You sighed, slouching against the bar.
"Another long day?"
You nod, shaking your wet hair. "Always. They work you to the bone for pennies, I'm telling you."
"That's why I keep asking you to quit that dead-end, early-grave job and come work for me. Sure, you'll still be making pennies, but you won't be worked to the bone. And everyone here likes you." He explained, as he passed you your drink.
You glanced back at him and shook your head. You took a sip of your drink, enjoying the subtle sting of alcohol in the back of your throat. "Nah, I still need to pay my dues. The contract expires in three years. Then maybe, maybe I'll consider quitting my day job to come work for you."
He chuckled. "That's all I'm asking; just some consideration. And quit swinging your hair around like a wet dog! You're getting my clean bar all dirty!"
"When has this bar ever been clean?"
He threw an ice cube at you, which you dodge with ease. A laugh spilled past your lips and you took another sip of your drink. The night settled after that. You chatted with some of the regulars, talking about their day and their latest gripe of the night. All of them commiserate over your struggles at work and how you never seemed to have time for yourself. Despite all of the crap the day threw at you, you could always count on your evenings and nights to be much sweeter. This is what made working like a dog all worth it; being able to spend some good quality time with people you actually liked.
"You know, you really ought to stop hanging out with us old timers so much." One of the regulars sighed and downed the dregs of his beer.
The woman next to him nodded. "You need to go to one of those swanky clubs and grind up against someone to take home."
You grimaced at the thought. "Clubbing isn't my style. I like it here! It's super chill and everyone is so nice! Why would I give that up?"
"A pretty young thing like yourself needs to find herself some hunky arm candy." The woman laughed.
You laughed and shook your head. "The dating scene isn't for me. All the guys are babies who want a mother, not a significant other."
The man grunts in response. "You got that right. You kids don't want to work for a relationship anymore."
The woman scoffed and playfully shoved him. "Like you put any work with me when we were dating!"
"And yet you still married me!"
As the rest of the bar laughed, the door opened with a bang. You jumped, spilling a little of your drink on the bar counter. There, soaked to the skin, was a man dressed in blue jeans and a thin white shirt that stuck to his skin. He was tall, lithe, and carried himself with such authority it looked as if he was disgusted the rain even dared to fall on him. He flicked a crumpled cigarette to the ground and shook his soaking white hair. Though you couldn't put a name to the face, you knew who he was.Â
Mad Trigger Crew. He was trouble with a capital T.
Everyone seemed to sober up in that exact second. No one looked at him, finding other things far more interesting to occupy themselves. It wasn't until the bartender cleared his throat hesitantly that he was actually acknowledged.
"What can I do for you?"
"I need to borrow your phone. Mine died."
His voice was smooth and cold. It sent a shiver down your spine. You looked down at your drink as he took the phone from the bartender, leaning against the bar next to you. Though you tried really hard not to, you couldn't help but listen to his conversation.
"The car's dead. No, I didn't wreck it. Probably the battery. Just get someone down here to fix it. I'm not staying here all night. Be here in an hour or I'll tell the boss you kept me waiting."
Your heart stuttered in your chest. You didn't know who his boss was but you really hoped you wouldn't find out. A part of you wished he never walked into this bar and killed the whole vibe.
"Do you have a bathroom?" He asked the bartender, who pointed to the back.
As he left, you let out a shaky breath. The regular who was talking to you earlier shook his head. "That was terrifying."
"Shh! He could hear you!" His wife smacked his shoulder.
"Why is a Katengumi executive hanging around this part of town?" The bartender mumbled under his breath, wringing his hands.
"You know him?" You ask and he winced at your words.
"Before I moved the bar here, I had a run in with their boss. He's terrifying to put it mildly, worse than that one. He let me off with my life but took everything else from me. I'm lucky to have escaped and I vowed I would never get tangled up with them again. Now they're back and I don't think I can go through all of that a second time."
The bar fell silent once more, heavy with the weight of the bartender's words. It made your stomach roll. But you weren't going to let some gang executive ruin your night. You couldn't. This place was your sanctuary. You couldn't let anyone take that from you.
Looking for a distraction, you found the perfect thing. Grabbing a quarter from your wallet, you walked over to the jukebox and punched in the correct code. Instantly, the bar was jamming to one of their favorite classic rock songs. The heavy mood lifted and you found yourself smiling once more. It was good to have the night back on track.
Everyone was too lost in their good mood to even notice the Katengumi executive returning from the bathroom, in a new, dry shirt. You were bopping along to the music, watching some of the regulars dance in between tables, trying not to spill their drinks too much.
"What's all this?" His voice coming from behind you made you jump again.Â
"Ah..." You replied, your words getting stuck in your throat. "Sometimes, we like to turn on the jukebox for some dancing. It's a normal occurrence here."
He nodded. "I'm assuming it only plays songs from back in the day."
You give a small shrug. "Yeah, but it's nice. Reminds a lot of these people of the good old days."
If you weren't paying attention, you would've missed how his eyes widened a fraction. "The good old days..."
The wistfulness in his voice that you were sure wasn't supposed to be there made your heart skip a beat. Despite your better judgment, you drank the last of your drink and held out your hand to him. "What do you say?"
He stared at you. "What? Are you asking me to dance?"
"Why not? You're waiting for your ride, right? Why not wait with some dancing?"
He continued to stare at you for a moment longer before taking your hand. His grip was strong and his skin was smooth, save for some callouses you were sure came from handling weapons back in the day, or his microphone when battling as the leader of Mad Trigger Crew. Still, you didn't want to think about that right now. You were trying to lighten the mood and you would not be frightened by this mysterious, yet powerful man whose hand you were now holding.
He was stiff at first on the dance floor, as if he had never danced to this kind of music before. You weren't surprised. He seemed like the kind of guy who would frequent the swanky clubs the regulars were teasing you about earlier. Still, with a bright smile and some good moves of your own, you got him to loosen up on you. He even flashed you a small smile which made yours grow.
"You're pretty light on your feet." You tell him over the music.
He shook his head with a smirk. "You're not so bad yourself. What's your name."
When you tell him, you playfully nudge him. "Are you going to tell me yours?"
"Just call me Samatoki."
You didn't need him to tell you his last name, because you already knew it. Anyone who's anyone knew the only Samatoki in Yokohama was Samatoki Aohitsugi. He was powerful and dangerous, and you were currently dancing with him in a dive bar. What a small world this was after all.
As the song started to come to an end, you grabbed another quarter to change the song. Before you could punch in the code, Samatoki punched one in for you. You raised your eyebrow at his choice and he rolled his eyes in response.
"I like this song." Was all he said before he pulled you into your next dance.Â
A laugh escaped you as he twirled you around the floor. You felt weightless and dizzy, but in the best way possible. You could tell why he liked the song. It was peppy and had a good rhythm, something easy to dance to. You couldn't help but enjoy this time immensely, even as the song drew to a close.
You paused to catch your breath and take a sip of your drink. Samatoki ordered a whiskey and slowly drank it, his eyes on you the whole time. If he was any other person and this was any other time, you would have taken him home with those bedroom eyes. But you valued your life more than your pleasure. So instead you just winked at him and went back to the jukebox. You had one quarter left. You had to make it a good one.
After going over the choices a couple of times, you finally made your selection. It wasn't fast-paced or even all that happy. It was a song about reminiscing over your past and finding solace that the best is yet to come. It was slow, easy, and a good way to end the night.
Samatoki tapped your shoulder. "One more?"
You couldn't deny him. If you weren't going to take him home, you could at least dance with him one more time. As he pulled you close, you could feel your heart leap into your throat. It was intimate but not sexual. It was almost... romantic.
"How come I've never seen you at the clubs?" He whispered in your ear. "You have the moves for it."
You chuckled and shook your head. "Not my scene. But I'm assuming they're yours. You seem like a club guy. Ah, I don't mean to offend you or anything-"
He shook his head. "Not at all. That's a Shibuya kind of scene. Yokohama is for dive bars like this one."
You laugh and nod at his assessment. "You got that right. That's why I love it here. It's my absolute favorite place in the world."
He nods, looking at you while you look around. "Is that so? Maybe I'll have to come by even more often. Because I'm starting to like this place too."
"Well, if you come by, I'm sure you'll be able to find me." You probably shouldn't have said that, but you don't mind him knowing how often you frequent this place. You've been enjoying your time with him. You would love to spend even more time together if it was possible.
As the final song of the night came to a close, the two of you stared at each other in the eyes. There was something in him, something that was asking if he could kiss you. You wanted to give in. You were even leaning towards him-
The door to the bar opened. Everyone turned to look. It was a different man who you could also tell was from the same group as him, Mad Trigger Crew. Upon making eye contact with Samatoki, he nodded. Apparently, his ride was here.
Samatoki sighed. "Right on time. And I was so looking forward to cracking some skulls."
You bit your lip and hid it behind your hand. You knew he wasn't joking but you were tipsy. It was a little funny the way he said it with such stoicism.
He turned to look at you and pulled out a business card. "Call me if you're here again. I'd love to drop by and dance with you again."
You gently took the card from him and watched him slip away. Your heart was beating too fast and your head was clouded. Still, you couldn't stop thinking about the charming Katengumi executive you danced your night away with.
It was then that the regular woman yelled out to you, "See? I told you! All you needed was some hunky arm candy!"

Many will call you a liar. Others simply won’t believe it. Jyuto will laugh right in your face. And Rio, well, he doesn’t care either way. But you swear it’s the truth.
Samatoki was soft for you.
Honestly, you didn’t quite believe it yourself. But ever since your relationship with him became serious enough for the two of you to start living together, you’ve noticed the subtle changes in him. He came home at a decent time and would make food for the two of you to share. He also seemed clingier when you slept together. He was just different behind closed doors.
But he would rather die than admit it.
Now, today was your three year anniversary, and your first anniversary living together. Samatoki promised you a dinner for two and a walk along the beach. It was simple, sure, but you didn’t need a big fancy date to know he loved you. If anything, simple dates like this proved just how much he loved you without making a big deal about it.
It was four o’clock on the dot when Samatoki texted you quickly, a small smile on his face. Grabbing his jacket, he slipped out of his office and headed straight for you. Of course his subordinates tried to persuade him to go out that not, especially considering he seemed more dressed up than usual. But he brushed them off, telling them that he was taking the night off.
“Wah! Say it ain't so, sir!” One of the underlings wailed. “You never take time off.”
He rolled his eyes. “Well today it is. So try not to get into too much trouble or I’ll never hear the end of it from Jyuto.”
Before they could keep him from you any longer, he got into his convertible and drove off. Of course this was the exact moment Jyuto decided to call him. Groaning, he answered it, even though he knew he shouldn’t. He was already a couple minutes late.
“What do you want?”
“Where are you headed?”
He looked around but didn’t notice any cop cars. “Why do you care?”
“Rio invited me to his camp for dinner. Like hell I’m going to do that. So I’m going with you.”
“The fuck you are!” Samatoki snapped. “I’m busy tonight and you’re not coming. Figure out a different excuse.”
He ended the call before he could yell at him. He made a quick stop before finally making it home. Smiling, he snuck up behind you and wrapped his arms around your middle and kissed your neck. He set the flowers he got for you on the vanity table beside you.
“You look amazing.” Samatoki mumbled into your neck.
A smile tugged at the corner of your lips and you touched his cheek. Your outfit perfectly complimented his royal blue silk shirt he usually wore on special occasions. You had your hair all done up and bought new shoes just for today. You both looked like a couple of movie stars.
“I could say the same thing about you, handsome.”
He chuckled. “I’ll get started on dinner, okay?”
“Do you want some help?”
Shaking his head, he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “No. Today is all about you.”
You pouted. “It’s about you too, you know. I’ll set the table. Fair?”
He sighed. He knew he wasn’t going to be able to talk you out of helping him. And he didn’t mind it all that much. So he nodded and got to work making your favorite meal. The two of you talked about your days and anything else you wanted to tell the other. The sweet domestic bliss of the moment made Samatoki feel complete and full.
With you, he was able to put aside all of his troubles and anxieties. He wasn’t Samatoki Aohitsugi, second-in-command of the Katen Family, or leader of Mad Trigger Crew. He was your Samatoki and even though it was kind of embarrassing to him, he was wrapped around your fingers. And he was fine with that. Besides, you only used your power for evil on the very rare occasion.
When dinner was done, you took his hand and led him to the beach not too far from where you both lived. Again, the two of you talked and splashed each other occasionally with the ocean water. He was having so much fun with you, he completely lost track of time. However, as the sun dipped below the horizon, he remembered his special plan he came up with a couple weeks ago.
Taking your hand and holding your face gently, he said, “Y/n, you are one of the most special people in my life. I couldn’t imagine living one second without you. And so I want to ask you, will you marry me?”

“What?”
You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend. “You heard me. We’re babysitting.” You then gestured to the little girl holding onto your leg. “This is my niece, Anna. We’re going to be taking care of her today.”
Samatoki stared at her before he shook his head. “Yeah, no. I don’t do little kids. You’re on your own. I'll see you later.”
As he turned to leave, you grabbed the back of his hoodie. In a low, threatening voice, you said, “I don’t remember asking you to help me. I remember telling you that we’re babysitting. I’m not doing this alone. And if you don’t help me, I will kill you.”
Samatoki grit his teeth but you could see the fear in his eyes. “You really wanna say that in front of a little kid?”
“Auntie Y/n always makes jokes like that!” Anna exclaims with a giggle. You laughed, your whole terrifying demeanor changing in the blink of an eye.
“Of course! Now what do you want to do today, Anna? Auntie Y/n and Uncle Xiaojun will make all of your wishes come true!”
“Whoa, hey! I’m not an uncle-” You glared at him and Samatoki swallowed his protest. “But I suppose today I am.”
“I want waffles! And I want to go to the park!” She exclaimed before taking both of your hands and dragging you out of your apartment.
You grinned at Samatoki, “Are you ready for this?”
“Absolutely not.” He muttered, but let the kid drag him anyway. He'd rather not have to deal with your fury today.
The three of you visited a cute little cafe not too far from your apartment, where Anna got waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. You ordered yourself a pastry and some coffee, while Xiaojun just stuck to black coffee.
“Not hungry?” You cooed, a teasing lilt in your voice
He shook his head before drinking his coffee. “Not for any of that crap.”
“Wow! These waffles are so big!” Anna squealed with delight. She put a bite in her mouth before squealing again. "And they're so delicious too!"
You smirked at him as you drank your own coffee. “See? The food is delicious! You should get something.”
He rolled his eyes. “Considering I’m the one who paid for it, I can do whatever I damn well please and I'm having coffee.”
“Whatever you say, Samatoki."
After you finished eating, Anna dragged you both to the park down the street. Upon arriving, you sent her on her way to go play on the playground. You and Xiaojun sat on a bench nearby to keep an eye on her as she played.
“So why are we babysitting?”
You shrug, watching you niece play with some of the other kids on the playground. “My brother had an important meeting today and he couldn’t find a babysitter last minute. I offered to help out.”
“Even though you knew we were going to be spending the day together?” He asked, though he didn't sound as angry as he did earlier.
You chuckled, still not looking at him. “Maybe this was a test.”
“A test?”
“To see what kind of father you’d be.”
A light blush adorned his cheeks as he started sputtering. “You can’t just say stuff like that so casually!”
You laughed. “I know but you’re so cute when you’re all flustered like this!”
“Well aren’t you a fun couple?” A mom passing by with a stroller chuckles. “I remember when my husband was in his rebellious phase too. You know, I wish he kept his tattoos, like your husband did. Nevertheless, I’m glad you got yours to settle down with you as well!”
Samatoki’s blush only darkened. “Hey, we’re not-”
You latched onto his arm and laughed. “Yes, I am truly blessed to have such a great husband like Samatoki here! I’m hoping that by hanging out with my niece he might want one or two of his own, you know?”
“Well good luck!” She cheered before moving along.
Samatoki turned to yell at you. "What the hell was that all about?! Are you crazy?! That was so embarrassing! Why did you have to make me look all soft like that?”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh please. None of what I said was a lie.”
He continued to stutter as he tried to come up with a witty comeback. “You, wha-but, I-”
“Auntie Y/n?” Anna came up to the both of you rubbing her eyes. “I’m ready to go home now.”
Patting her head gently, you picked her up and balanced her on your hip. Taking Samatoki’s hand, you pecked his cheek and smiled. “Let’s go home, tough guy.”
"Fine." He muttered, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "But you still owe me a day all to myself with you."
"We'll see."
"I mean it."
"I know you do." You snicker. "I'll see what I can do, husband."
He groaned. "You're going to be the death of me, woman, I swear."
