Starfleet Academy, you officially have my heart and soul.
screaming, crying, throwing up glitter.
Tawny Newsome, you brilliant, wonderful human being. what a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful tribute to Benjamin Sisko.
i loved getting to see SAM determine for herself who she is and what being the emissary to her people will mean to her. i loved the Sisko storybook, the little baseball paraphernalia stand in the museum, the suit and the in-depth examination of Sisko's character and legacy. i loved SAM getting to read Anslem and the entire conversation between her and Jake. i loved Jake saying that his father didn't miss anything. that he was there, he was always there, with them through it all. i loved the cross-generational sharing of love and wisdom. i loved the theremin analogy. i loved Dax mentioning Sisko's tomatoes (and subsequently biting into one like an apple). i loved that SAM lets the mystery go in the end. i loved every bit of it.
thank you, Tawny Newsome. thank you, Cirroc Lofton.
and thank you, Avery Brooks, for everything. forever and always.
You can really tell this version of Sam was raised by the Doctor, the way she refuses to explain to her adoring roommate/bestie why she's being so standoffish until she can be as dramatic about it as possible
It was 800 years ago. It was yesterday.
