I dreamt of some kind of World-ending Thing

One of the first jobs I applied to after leaving the Cortland Standard was a junior hockey announcer job that would require a 1,000 mile-plus move. After I sent my application email, the owner got back to me basically right away, impressed with my qualifications.
There was a salary posted, but when I asked them for some more details about compensation, especially in light of my experience that they were so impressed with AND the relocation requirements, they replied with boilerplate "why do you millennials care so much about money, we're a family here" crap.
That same employer emailed me a couple months later asking if I would still consider the job, because the person they hired sucked, largely because they had never done hockey PBP before. I said I would consider it, but I still needed to know more about compensation. They never replied to me.
Today, I found that same job posted online as an unpaid internship.
When people tell you who they are, believe them.
