Sam Chatmon: Make Me A Pallet On the Floor

Sam Chatmon (1897-1983) was a Delta Blues guitarist and vocalist who was discovered late in his life. As a player he started playing in the 1900′s, his eariest recordings date from the 1930′s. He rediscovered in 1960 and made his name afresh with touring. His later recording career restarted in the 1970′s and extended over four albums and two compilations. I would not have known about him except for the video footage in the BBC music archives.
