This week, though, Tenna hadn't been quite himself.

He'd been trying! Trying to not seem too down, or fussed, or anything less than perfect.

But it all came to a head tonight.

From the bed, Spamton watched the doorknob rattle at its usual time and watched the large TV darkner slink into the room. He moved heavier than usual, mouth nowhere to be found on his bright screen. His shoulders sagged beneath the suit jacket like the fabric weighed more than it should. Tenna crossed the room without a word, loosened his tie, and dropped into the armchair in the corner. The cushions sighed under his weight.

The room fell quiet with only the soft hum of Tenna's screen and the rustle of blankets as Spamton shifted under them.

Spam watched him for a long time, fingers curling tigher around the unevenly folded paper in his hands.

He'd been holding it for hours. Waiting. Rewriting sentences in his head and wondering if it was stupid. Wondering if it was too much, or perhaps not enough.

But when he finally heard something like a sigh and a hand dragged down Tenna's face, that decided it. Spamton pushed the blankets aside and slipped out of bed—careful and quiet. His socks whispered against the floor as he inched hesitantly forward.

Tenna didn't notice until the small figure stopped beside the armchair. For a moment, Spamton just stood there, starting hard at the paper like it might bite if held wrong.

Then, without a word, he held it out.

I haven't felt [So Damn Good!] since [[1999]].
