Some progress shots of Sakurajima. Can't believe I've been working on this world on and off for over a year now, but it's certainly starting to come together. Definitely a labour of love, but I can't wait to be able to play on my Japanese island!
Sakurajima is a highly active stratovolcano in Kagoshima Prefecture on Kyushu island, Japan.
Rising 1,117 meters high, it erupted on 8 August 2026, sending ash plumes up to 3,000 meters high.
Formerly an island, a massive 1914 eruption connected it to the Osumi Peninsula.
