the main point of the project was to experiment with filters and abstract concepts. i decided that i wanted to, somehow, convey the futility of life. fearing that i was trying to make something both too abstract and too pretentious to be taken seriously, i decided to take a walk to clear my head, and film where i walked in the hopes that something interesting would happen.

the ending is completely by chance, and something that actually conveys the idea of “the futility of life” a lot better than anything i could’ve written...no matter what you do, your happiness and everything in it is ultimately up to chance. obviously, i think there’s a lot more to life than “oh well, my choices don’t really matter in the end,” but i also think that accepting the fact that parts of our lives would be vastly different if it weren’t for some chance occurrence.
