To (St.) Brigd
I call to you, BrĆg, daughter of the Dagda,
Poet of the Tuatha DĆ©, saint of fire.
May your fire be honored in our hearths:
the water of healing flowing,
the fire of the forge burning,
the spark of wisdom catching.
Keeper of the forge whose mantle guards the people,
serpentine lady of the oak, patron of cattle,
triennial one of making, of mending, of knowing
O exalted one, we honor your wisdom and ask for your blessing!

Saints to Petition during Disability Pride Month
- St. Margaret of Castello. She was born with multiple deformities (blindness, spinal curvature, one leg shorter than the other, and a deformed arm) and she never grew taller than 4 feet. Her parents abandoned her at a shrine in Castello when she was 6. She was later on adopted by a loving couple that treated her kindly. She grew up to be a nun who nursed the sick, consoled the dying, and visited prisoners. During her funeral, a girl with deformed legs dragged herself up to St. Margaretās casket, touched it, and gained the ability to walk. This miracle caused the priest overseeing her funeral to arrange for her burial to be inside of the church instead of the churchyard. That said, she is the patroness of the physically disabled and those who are abandoned because of ableism.
- St. Giles. He was born to a wealthy family in 650. After their deaths, he gave his inheritance to the poor. In Greece, he became known as a miracle worker, but he went into hiding in France so that people wouldnāt start worshipping him instead of God. He opted to live in a cave as a hermit for many years up until a deer ran in to hide from royal hunters. One of the hunters shot an arrow into the cave hoping to hit the deer, but it hit St. Gilesā leg instead. He begged to be left alone, but the king at the time sent doctors to tend to the wound he sustained. The king then had a monastery built for him and his followers where he eventually died in the early 8th century. He is a patron of the physically disabled (especially disabilities gained after an injury).
- St. Seraphina. The first 9 years of her life are unknown, but when she was 10, she was stricken by an illness (presumably tuberculosis or osteomyelitis) that began to paralyze her. She took comfort in St. Gregory and prayed for his intercession often. 5 years later, St. Gregory appeared to her and predicted that she would succumb to her illness in 8 days, to which she did. In the following years, many of the sick and disabled people who visited her grave were cured.
- St. Joseph of Cupertino. Born in 1603, itās suspected that he had some form of neurodivergence. Absentmindedness, forgetfulness, a slow learner, aimlessly wandering around, and a bad temper. No matter how hard he tried, he never really seemed to fit inā¦until he became a priest. Despite his symptoms, he was always able to see the beauty in every little thing God made and often got lost in thought over it for days at a time. He was famous for miraculous healings of the sick and disabled. He also correctly predicted his own death.
- St. Dymphna. Not sure if Iām allowed to go over her story on here, but sheās a patroness of mental, psychiatric, neurological, and emotional disorders. She is a patroness of a few other things, too, but again, not sure if Iām allowed to get into it.
- While mostly known as a patroness of indigenous peoples & traditional ecological knowledge, St. Kateri Tekawitha is also petitioned for matters pertaining to visual impairments and facial deformities, scars, etc. She was struck by smallpox as a child and, while she survived, the sickness left her visually impaired and with permanent scarring on her face. When she died, itās said that the scars on her miraculously cleared up.
- St. RenƩ Goupil. He was a surgeon and missionary. When he tried to become a Jesuit priest, he was rejected due to his hearing loss. He continued his volunteer missionary work and was later on martyred by Kanien'kehƔ:ka warriors after teaching a Kanien'kehƔ:ka child how to do the sign of the cross. He is a (unofficial) patron of the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
- St. Lidwina of Schiedam. When she was 15, she had a bad fall while ice skating and broke a rib. The rib didnāt heal properly which led to a gangrene that spread all throughout her body which left her paralyzed and she suffered from a few chronic and debilitating illnesses. Sheās a patroness of ice skaters, the chronically ill, and those who experience chronic pain. Some suspect that she may have had multiple sclerosis, so sheās also a patroness of those who have MS.
If you know of other saints associated with disorders and/or disabilities, you can reblog this and add to the list!
Lucifer E-Offering
A collage of the only way I can possibly describe how Lucifer feels to me as an empath.
The bottom row represents when he's in one of his classic "moods". If you know, you know.
He feels like the warmth of flames and the early morning rays of sunshine you'd get after a rough overnight storm, the beams just barely peaking through the clearing clouds as the trouble gets ushered away almost seemingly by his light. And on a not so serious note, he also feels like those sour nerds gummy clusters, most likely because of his sass and spunk, I presume.
Stinky, nasty boy. He's such a goofball, always making flirtatious cracks at me and being a mischievous "little" dude. He's made up this game specifically for me just to brighten my day where he points out any even remotely penis shaped objects, and I genuinely try to guess every time he's like "Look!" if he's going to do it or not, but even he doesn't know when he'll see one, so half of the time it's just a normal observation that he wants to point out to me, so I can't just ignore him... Not that I would anyway, I quite enjoy this silly little game, it makes me laugh. That's why he made it up, by the way, he confessed after weeks of me bugging him about it that it was because he knew it would make me laugh (I think peens are shaped funny, they remind me of those clams that make holes on beaches that will spit water out at you if you pour some in their dens.) and that he simply loves to make me smile. He says my laughter is like music to his poor, "depressed" ears.. Naughty boy. Suuuch an attention seeker! (Said lovingly in a teasing way.) But every time he points to one, I look, only to scoff and smack him on the pec as he giggles his large, hulkingly tall ass off because it's yet another dick he's somehow managed to spot in someone's very shadowy ceiling paint. Absolute god tier pester-er, he's lovely.
I love it when a saint has nothing to do with something & yet it becomes part of their patronage.
Saint Lawrence said "lmao fuck you, flip me over to cook the other side." He's the patron saint of comedians (he was funny) & of cooks (because he made a joke about being cooked alive????) (Canon)
Saint Sebastian is HUMMINA HUMMINA awOOOOGH ga boing-oing-oing (my eyes popping out) hubba hubba in all his art & is the patron saint of gay+ men. (Folk)
Saint Joan of Arc took on the role of a masculine gender & is the patron saint of trans men, butch women, people who are trans in a masculine direction even if they are not men, feminists, & crossdressers. I think she is also the patron saint of folk catholics & christowitches. (Folk)
I forget his name but there was a saint who was a patron of doctors &/or medicine &/or healing, so in all the art he was depicted with pigs because pork lard was often used to make salves & other medicine (bc some medicines are fat soluble-- look up whether you should take your meds with fat or without fat) but the mostly-illiterate congregation just saw him depicted with pigs all the time so the pig farmers adopted him as their own saint & now he is the patron saint of pig farmers. (Canon)
Saint Joseph existed well before the MƩtis people were born & yet he became our patron saint (& one of the saints we like). Idk how tbh. (Canon?)

what a great day to petition saints
(this user is desperately holding back from hexing a bitch while emotional)
Cleansing, Reversals, and Calling St. Martha.
This isn't a Hoodoo working perse but some of these ingredients for this bath are used in a traditional hoodoo bath and if you follow me you'll recognize some of them.
This working is a bit of New Orleans voodoo one, it's used to not only reverse the bad but to protect you while your doing it and afterwards.
COFFEE & REVERSING OIL SPIRITUAL BATH
Ingredients: 1ā2 cups used ground coffee or coffee grounds. This is used for ādrawing outā negativity.
1ā2 teaspoons Reversing Oil
Optional: a handful of blessed salt (sea salt or Epsom) for extra cleansing. It can be blessed by a lay person or yourself saying the 23rd Psalms.
Prepare The Bath: Fill the tub with warm water. Mix the ingredients: Add coffee grounds, salt, and herbs to the bath. Add Reversing Oil: Sprinkle a few drops into the water while focusing on the intention: āAll negativity, harm, and bad luck leave my energy and return to their source harmlessly.ā
Recite Psalms 23
Soak and visualize: Enter the bath and soak for 15ā20 minutes. Visualize dark energy being absorbed by the coffee grounds and leaving your body.
RINSE (optional): You can rinse off in plain water. To give you that fresh energy.
After The Bath: Dry off naturally or air dry if possible, and imagine yourself wrapped in protective, golden light.
Step 2: Reversal Candle (Neutralize & Send Back Negativity)
Dress The Candle: Rub a few drops of Reversing Oil to your candle. Set intention: Focus on sending back any harmful energy safely. You can use a prayer or affirmation like: āAll negativity, harm, and bad luck directed toward me return to its source. I am cleansed and protected."
Light the candle in a safe, undisturbed place. Meditate or focus for 10ā15 minutes, visualizing harmful energy leaving your client and returning to its origin.
Let the candle burn safely for several hours, or extinguish and relight daily until complete.
Step 3: (Protection & Empowerment)
In New Orleans voodoo we also used Saints and St Martha is a good one for protection.
Now in this last step you could follow up with a St. Martha candle ritual to seal the reversal and invite positive energy or use a protection candle with protection oil with the 23 Psalms.
But for this post let go with the Saint
Place her candle on a safe surface, ideally on a small plate or altar. Light the candle and focus on their intention: āSt. Martha, powerful helper and protector, remove all harm and misfortune from my path. Turn every obstacle into blessing and guide me in strength, peace, and victory."
You can meditate quietly for 10ā15 minutes while the candle burns. If burning the candle fully is not possible, they can let it burn for a few hours each day until completed. Offer a simple gift afterward (like water or flowers) and thank St. Martha for her guidance.
Feelings I get when different deities/divine beings are present:
Jesus: a very calming but strong energy. I feel so safe and loved but thereās also an obvious sense of authority. I tend to get chills and sometimes tear up when I do readings with him
Archangel Michael: VERY strong ādonāt fuck with meā energy but also very protective energy. I know Iām safe and protected but also need to be serious and get to work.
Mother Mary: Very strong maternal energy (ofc cause sheās Mother Mary). Very sweet and loving. Her presence always feels like a warm hug. Like a āIām right here, hon. What do you need?ā But itās again a very strong protective energy like she is ready to fuck up any bad vibes that even try to come near me lol.
Mary Magdalene: Strong feminine and loving energy. It always feels like sheās excited to talk to me and it always makes me so happy. Sheās so happy to talk and catch up but then itās time to get to work. Sheās so sweet but does not play when it comes to connecting to my inner divine feminine and doing shadow work.
Brigid: I havenāt worked with her long but I have noticed how VERY strong her energy is. You definitely know when sheās there. I often get chills and sometimes a stomach ache (not like a bad one. Kind of like the same one you get when youāre nervous and excited at the same time)
