#saikoucon

Sorry I didn't get the four month countdown banner posted on social media on the seventh; that was grocery shopping day and it took all day, a lot of panic buying around SaikouHomebase again... Also, we didn't get it posted back on April 3 due to some issues with the dev end of the website and then forgot across our social media profiles, but in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and how almost everyone's income has been affected by the quarantines across the US, we will not be instituting the 20% price jump on Pre-Registration General Admission Badges to attend SaikouCon 2020 that is usually set four months out from our showtime. We know this isn't much of a help in these hard times, we wish it was more, but we still have to pay the venue rental fees and guest star appearance fees and transportation costs to be able to be continue moving the show forward this year, and unfortunately it doesn't look like there will be much, if any, emergency stimulas funding for our side of the entertainment industry in Pennsylvania unless your event produces revenue in the six figure arena.

So at SaikouCon this weekend there was free breakfast in the con hotel (which was great bc they had a waffle machine and everything.) I head down to the breakfast area with one of my friends and we make ourselves a waffle and start eating. There was this person sitting right next to us who also had a waffle, but instead of putting the syrup on top of his food or dipping pieces of the waffle into it he straight up start drinking the syrup out of a plastic cup after he took a bite of waffle.

(I saw the cup before he started eating and it was easily halfway filled with syrup, too.)

I didn’t see the first time when he drank the syrup, but I heard the other people at his table react to it, so I quickly turned around and asked him to do it again. He was hesitant to do it again since the syrup was so sugary, so he decided to chomp on an entire little packet of butter instead. (He basically inhaled the whole thing in a matter of seconds.) Myself and my friend asked him to please drink the cup of syrup again since we didn’t see it the first time and eventually he agreed.

He filled up the cup halfway with syrup and started chugging it. It was probably the best thing I saw all of SaikouCon weekend. After all was said and done he ended up signing a napkin with “Syrup Man” and “Butter Girl”, since those were the two superhero names we had given him for doing such a feat. I may not have seen My Hero Academia yet, so please forgive me for saying this if I’m out of line, but I feel like Syrup Man/Butter Girl would make a great hero. They are the hero we truly deserve.
