i'm overwhelmed by how rich and beautiful hinduism is. how am I only just realizing this, though? over the course of my journey i've learned about and adopted practices from, wicca, folk magic, new age, shamanism, anthroposophy, druidry, etc. i know at some point or another, with all of these things, i read or heard there was an eastern spiritual influence. when i left christianity, i picked up where i left off, and started looking for answers in witchcraft/paganism again. it's a beautiful realm of spirituality that a big piece of me still inhabits. however, something just wasn't falling into place. i'd search and read (and read) and just couldn't settle. example: witchcraft is where i feel a draw. but where did it come from? i particularly like wicca because it's a fleshed out religion. oh, it is a reconstruction/re-appropriated system that works for some, but isn't shining in the historical integrity or culture department. wasn't theosophy involved? where did that come from? another sort of mish-mash appropriating eastern spirituality.... Hinduism is so vast and open in a way i never understood before. as someone who identifies as a witch, but longed for something more... truly ancient/overwhelmingly tangible i am adoring this new discovery very much.
