everyone is going insane because someone on twitter posted a detailed callout thread and pdf proving ai use in a bunch of popular fics. here's the link: nitter.net/heatedrivalryai/status/2071719219960426605
Ahh, I see. I'm very out of the loop by choice. (Warning to anyone else who enjoys being out of the loop: that link does name specific fics.)
I've only read two of the fics listed, and one of the authors posted a response that it was their beta using AI to copy edit the fic. Whether that's true or not (I'm inclined to believe it) it sucks. It sucks!
The thing is...this paranoia is so far beyond just fanfic. Fanfic is pretty minor issue really, even though it's very emotionally fraught. I don't like the idea of reading AI fic, whether it's wholly generated content or people using it to copy edit / check information. But it's seeping in everywhere. And now, this document will just train people who use it how to hide Claude generated formatting.
But I'm a working scientist, and I live in fear of my students using Claude or other tools on their code or on the writing they submit to me. If my name goes on something that my student used an AI tool to generate and I didn't catch, and there's a mistake, that's my reputation. It keeps me up at night.
I don't know the answer to all this. But it sucks. Not to sound all holier than thou, but I'll be honest I don't understand the appeal of AI tools. I like to write because I like to write. And especially with fanfic, where the stakes are absolute zero...but social pressure is a hell of a drug.
TW for sensitive stuff ya

Y/N's POV
Jinsol and I have been together for at least five years. When we first met, it was all humble beginnings. She was trying to get into the Kpop industry while I was a college student.
Jinsol trained her body to the maximum of her capabilities; when she fell, I was there to catch her. That's what she always appreciated about me. I was there when she needed me.
In the early age of our relationship, it was all honeymoon and flowers. Jinsol always looked after me in return for my help; she'd always make time for us when she was not busy.

Some weekend angst.
“It’s just a shame, is all.”
Mrs. Wilson sighs softly as she supervises the kitchens at Bridgerton house. “I do not disagree with you, Mrs. Crabtree, but unfortunately there is little we can do.”
Mrs. Crabtree nods in agreement, but she doesn’t have to like it. “Young Miss Eloise’s birthday was two months ago, and it was remembered.”
“It is a assumed that little girls are more sensitive to such things,” Mrs. Wilson points out. “And Mr. Benedict is eighteen now. Most young men are not so worried about their family throwing them a birthday party.”
The older cook knows better. She’s known Benedict Bridgerton since he was just a little babe, and with the death of the Viscount oh-so-recent…”Mrs. Wilson, may I make him just a little something to mark the day? Nothing fancy…”
Mrs. Wilson struggles with that. “It will make the family feel bad,” she comments. “But then…maybe they should feel a little bad.” She sighs. “Quietly, Mrs. Crabtree.”
"I can still hear her voice sometimes"
Hello tickle peeps.
I apologize for being absent for so long. A lot of life stuff happened that has completely broken me.
Back in October, at the beginning my mother passed away unexpectedly. So I've had to pick up the pieces. Taking a leave of absence from my job to be my autistic brothers full time caregiver. So mentally I've been not okay. I believe I'm starting to make some progress and I'm trying to maintain any sort of normalcy.
I've missed being active on here and I want to be more active. I hope everyone is doing well.
