She felt as if her heart was being squeezed. Piece by piece each laugh, each blush, each hidden smile was being sucked away. As if it had never happened. Nothing was ever going to be the same. For he hadn’t chosen her. He hadn’t stayed. Her happily ever after was looking more and more far away. And now when she thought of him it hurt inside. In places she didn’t know you could hurt. And a longing replaced the joy that used to be in her. A feeling of want for how things were. For now they were only two strangers, exchanging small talk. Leaving things unspoken. For he had not chosen her. As she had faith he would.
