The Sachsenring updated ahead of 2026 German GP
The Sachsenring will once again host the German Grand Prix in 2026, but the circuit will feature several safety upgrades ahead of the race weekend.
Following last year’s crash involving Diogo Moreira and David Alonso, Turn 3 has undergone modifications, with grass run-off areas replaced by asphalt to improve rider safety and reduce the risk of secondary incidents.
Further improvements have also been made at Turn 11, where upgrades to the drainage system aim to enhance track conditions in wet weather.
The total cost of the circuit updates amounts to €300,000, with the improvements funded by the government.
