Countless unfortunate survivors had fallen prey to The Betrayed’s unwilling lust for blood. The Entity’s attempt to twist their mind and keep that rage they once felt alive succeeded more often than not, especially if it was a survivor.
Other killers weren’t as targeted, but some had still been attacked over the course of the short time that Skáti has been a new killer. They didn’t know what the rules were. They didn’t know whose side they were on. All they knew was that they had to kill. Even if they didn’t want to.
Something about this traitor survivor was different. She caught their eye. Gave them pause. She reminded them of the guiding light of the full moon on a winters eve. Though the bloodlust remained, their curiosity got the best of them.
From the trees they watched, only waiting until she stopped before they finally spoke up, not wanting to get in any close proximity quite yet. Once again, they knew there would be no one to understand them, but they could only hope that the light tone of their voice would convey their intentions.
“Ert þú gerður úr tunglsljósi, ókunnugur maður?”
[ “Are you made of moonlight, stranger?” ]

Well, this was new.
Sable was usually one to approach a killer for a casual conversation, not the other way around. At least, she assumed whatever they were asking was of a casual, or at the very least, a neutral nature based on the lack of hostility in their tone and bitterness in their voice.
Unfortunately for the both of them, Sable had no idea what was just spoken to her. Honestly, she was taken aback in general by their sudden appearance; normally her walks to Elliot’s place were largely uneventful and lonely, unless one of her partners accompanied her.
“Ah, sorry….” Sable trailed off, glancing to the side. Subconsciously, some part of her insisted that due to this killer’s animalistic nature, eye contact would be seen as a threat. “I’m afraid I don’t understand what language you’re speaking.” She matched their tone for the most part, but added a bit of confusion and hesitation to hopefully get across that she didn’t comprehend their words.
After a brief thought, an idea crossed her mind.
Granted, she had no idea if this was gonna work, for all she knew, the killer before her was seconds away from mauling her and setting back her meeting with Elliot by a good few hours, but hey, it was better than nothing, right?
“Um… I’m about to go visit a friend, and if my hunch is correct, someone else will be there who can understand you. I’m not gonna stop you from following me, but you’re more than welcome to walk with me, if you want.” She offered, though truth be told she was uncertain on her point getting across.
The ‘someone else’ in question was Daniel, obviously. Being in a partnership with the ancient demon version of Ghostface had its perks; one of them being his innate ability to understand languages, even dead ones. And considering Sable had never heard of the language this particular killer spoke, Daniel was her best shot at understanding them.
