wait wait i almost forgot to post about my favorite kirk + bones moment of the whole film which is when jim is literally phyrically vibrating with the effort to restrain himself from absolutely VAULTING into the captain's chair and turfing saavik out for crimes of 'not being me' and 'me (jim) not having control of the enterprise' and bones is like lol. lmao even. remember when me and spock said you cannot exist as anything other than a starship captain? except he doesn't say that so instead he offers him a tranquilizer like jim is a dad and saavik is his 15 year old daughter driving a car for the first time and jim is in the passenger seat grabbing the oh shit handle and saying 'THERES A RED LIGHT'
also incredibly adorable, endearing even, that jim and spock immediately become incomprehensible little co-conspirators and saavik is like waittttttt no u can't do that wait mr spock why are u using colloquialisms i don't like this
saavik met captain kirk and was like this???? is the guy??? that my boss/mentor is constantly bringing up in entirely irrelevant situations??? he's so old! and lame! and he's a loser who doesn't follow regulations and we're probably gonna all die #okboomer
and kirk was like i LOVE this kid show me the adoption papers RIGHT NOW
