Here is the thing @maleccrazedauthor we both think along the same lines when it comes to Aldertree. He either wanted to sleep with Izzy (political reasons?) or he wanted to hijack her emotionally, because like you said, she doesn't have the sort of support the others have. What I don't understand is that he tried it with Alec as well I believe, when he was telling Alec about the person that he loved.

So maybe he was trying to find out what was going on with Jace and the only way he knew how was by trying to get through to Jace's siblings.
