I'm not sure exactly what sort of cattle they used when filming the TV series Rawhide, but it mostly wasn't longhorns (which was historically what would have been on those cattle drives in the 1860s). Anyway, I didn't know for certain what longhorn cattle looked like until I looked it up for this prompt... and all I can say is that Pete Nolan, who got gored in S1E17 "Incident of Fear in the Streets" (scene depicted above), probably wouldn't have survived.
