connection: a friend, who had broken up with his girlfriend, now spends more time with reena and gives her mixed signals, making her confused, because she had always had a crush on him, but had never acted on it, so... should she now or not?
it was all so confusing to her. they had always been good friends, nothing could change that, but not that long after he broke up with his girlfriend they started hanging out more often. it was mostly him inviting her to hang out, but sometimes it was also reena, who called him when she thought he would also enjoy a movie she was about to go to, for example. and she didn’t mind spending time with him. but lately she had a feeling there was something more to it... there were accidental touches, that lingered more than usual, sneaky glances, compliments which usually wasn’t there... but at the same time he talked how he was done with those popular girls and didn’t want to do anything with them even though they seemed to be waiting in line to date him, always throwing themselves at him.
they were at the halloween themed fun fair, it was their tradition to see it at this time of the year. he had won her a vampire teddy bear, which she was now hugging like her life depended on it. they were going through a haunted house, scary decorations all around them, there was barely any light, and suddenly someone dressed as a zombie growled right next to her ear, making reena scream and tightly hug her friend for a feeling of safety. the zombie scared her so bad she didn’t want to let go of him and it didn’t seem he wanted to let go of her either. it was hard to see, but she looked up at him, their eyes met and for a moment it seemed he was about to lean in. being short reena lifted herself up on her toes, but the next moment he pulled back suggesting they should get going. “ah, yes, sure,” she smiled standing back on full feet and letting go of him.
