I'm a little scared for the ending of Akatsuki no Yona

When Hak was swept away and gone for one or two chapters i was so anxious cuz i thought it was within the realm of possibility he could die based on the writing up till that point. I always consider stories from a writer's perspective and assume they will make good writing decisions, and in my head there was a possible good writing decision that resulted in his death in that arc. So i was scared for it.

But unless something unexpected happens, now I'm fairly confident he'll survive till the end after that arc's conclusion.

However now I'm getting scared for the dragons

They literally have expiration dates that could be born at any moment. There have been times when I've been afraid a new dragon was born and it always ended up being something else.

A perfect happy ending to me would be:

Yona fulfilling the crimson dragon's desires and as a result the dragon powers return to the heavens, leaving our current dragons as normal men without powers, able to live out the rest of their lives until their end. This would include Zeno too.

That would be the best possible happy ending for them, in my opinion.

However,

There are many other possibilities that include their deaths in order for the mangaka to teach or comment on a different type of loss from Yona's perspective.

Yona and her companions have remained unscathed for all this time. That would make any one of their deaths that much more impactful and powerful. But honestly i just want them to survive and for no death to be on the horizon for them except for old age. I just can't tell if they have plot armor or not because the writing is so good.

I have a love/hate relationship with this chapter. Just saying...

I can’t imagine being chained to a wall for 12 years... It’s just inhuman. I’d want the guy to die too!

The answer is, yes.

I know this is supposed to be sad, but it’s a really cool panel. Kija really loved his dad, Shin-Ah really respected Ao, and Jae-Ha... Jae-Ha just wants this dude GONE.
