Gracing our Johnnyâs share house feature is Snow Man who is looking forward to being more active this 2023! They were divided into 4 balanced groups and did cross-talks for this New Year SP project. Furthermore, we also did a round-table discussion full of laughs with the 9 members! We will be giving a more than 12,000-word interview. [J-Pop] Snow Man has released a set of solo photos for their upcoming double A-sided 8th single âTapestry / Wâ which is scheduled to be released on March 15th.
Since I know about "Osomatsu-san" anime, it simply made me happy when I heard that Snow Man would be starring as the lead of the live action movie. Although it makes me anxious as it'd be a live action adaptation, there's also excitement along with it so we, the members, have talked that we are going to give our best in this movie. When I arrived at the shooting spot, the set was so good that it made me feel at ease as if I had returned to my parents' house. The environment made it easier for me to portray the character, so I want my acting to be worthy of the extravagant set. The character I'm playing is the eldest son, Osomatsu. I want to bring out the character naturally without being mindful about how it was portrayed in the anime. I want you to give attention especially to the range during the scenes where all the six characters are present. I hope you'll give love to the new Osomatsu.
Karamatsu - Iwamoto Hikaru
I'm exploring the boundaries of "cool" and "painful"
There was this feeling of happiness when we heard that we'd be acting in "Osomatsu-san" that everyone knows about and along with it we were surprised to hear that it'd be made into a live action movie, thus the first thing that came to our mind was "Are you serious!". So when we started the shooting, the whole atmosphere turned into a fun place, though I'm worried if I have played Karamatsu well. I have watched the anime, Karamatsu has the right amount of narcissistic elements so I'm playing his character by exploring the boundaries of "cool" and "painful". That's why I hope to enjoy acting in "Osomatsu-san", which can only be done by Snow Man, and Karamatsu, which can only be done by me. Also to the viewers, I hope it becomes such a movie that would make everyone laugh really hard after stepping out of the theater so please look forward to watching it.
Choromatsu - Meguro Ren
It makes me happy to act in the movie as a group
When we heard that Snow Man was given the opportunity to be in the live action of "Osomatsu-san", we were confused and astonished about how we will portray all the things and at the same time I was happy to be able to act as a group. I have been given the role of Choromatsu to play so I watched the anime for it. It's one of the longest series in history and it's loved by all so it's often being rewatched. Choromatsu's speed for tsukkomi and dialogues are important so I have learned all that while I was watching the anime. I will do my best to deliver the world of "Osomatsu-san".
Ichimatsu - Fukazawa Tatsuya
The only thing I have in common with Ichimatsu is slouching
To me it's an honor to be able to appear in such a work that is known by all and along with that, there's pressure as well. I wondered how far we could reenact the scenes and how close we could get to the characters with our acting. I have watched the anime so I became excited when I arrived at the set. The character I'm playing, Ichimatsu, has hunched back. But I'm usually slouching so that's a common thing between us. Personality wise we're completely opposite, so it's difficult to switch between his subdued voice and tension but everyone at the set lightens up the mood so I could focus on acting while being relaxed. We are genuinely enjoying the filming as well and we hope to deliver a good work by giving our best in acting the world of "Osomatsu-san".
Jyushimatsu - Sakuma Daisuke
I bought a wooden bat and swing it in the park
I love "Osomatsu-san" so when I talked about it as a fan, I was anxious and scared. However, when I talked with the staff, I could feel their overflowing love towards the series and being chosen by such a group of people makes me want to give my best. I'm playing as Jyushimatsu and speaking of Jyushimatsu reminds us of bats. I practiced swinging from the day we got the news. I bought a wooden bat and swung it in the park. It's a popular series and it's a wonderful series that makes the viewers crack up, so of course I want the people who are yet to know about the world of "Osomatsu-san" to watch it and I want the people who already love the series to watch it as well. I want them to watch without thinking about anything and when stepping out of the theater I want them to think that "They're so silly" so for that I will give my best.
Todomatsu - Raul
I hope I can portray Totty's cuteness
When we heard about it, we were like, "I wonder if it's okay with us" and we were anxious and there was a lot of pressure, but when reading the script, I understood about character and the portrayal that could only be done in the live action and I motivated myself that I have to do my best. I put on the wig and wore the hoodie and after seeing the set, it finally hit me that we're doing Osomatsu-san's live action. Now I'm genuinely looking forward to the completion of the movie. Todomatsu has round cute eyes so I hope I could portray such adorable Totty by making my eyes appear rounder, pouting my lips and making my voice high-pitched. Snow Man are doing their best so that lots of people can watch.
End - Watanabe Shota
The fun of playing a dead-serious character with all my might
I was so shocked that I almost froze. When I visualized my image of "Osomatsu-san", I became excited just by thinking about how as a Johnny's we can present it and show how wide our range is. The character I'm playing, End, is a "dead-serious" character who exerts serious and uptight energy with all his might, I think that's what makes him interesting. It'd be a win for me if my acting could make the viewers think that, "There's a dude like him tooâŠ". Matsuno siblings' hairstyles are adorable and if looked closely you can find the difference in the details. Since it's a live-action adaptation of a popular series, the bar has been set very high but when I arrived at the shooting spot, everyone was really enjoying the filming so I hope we can team up together and overcome the hurdle.
Close - Abe Ryohei
The shooting spot is chaotic in a good way!
We cranked in. It was chaotic in a good way! I laughed a lot when I read the script, my switch turned on when I arrived at the shooting spot and I was getting more into the character and the world view of the setting. Summing all that up, please let me say this, "It's chaos". The character I'm playing, Close, has a cool hairstyle and outfit! But in my opinion, you may find it as a rare side of mine. He's been rumored as a key person but he really is. The story couldn't proceed forward if it didn't have us, the original characters. I really want you to pay attention to the tactics of the Matsuno siblings. Since I have watched the anime, I hope it becomes such a movie that'd make me feel "This is "Osomatsu-san"!!". By the time it is completed, I hope it will be a great work with the combination of all our efforts. I will do my best to make it such a work that'd make everyone roll around laughing.
Period - Miyadate Ryota
I trimmed my eyebrows to make myself prepare for the role
To be honest, I was surprised when I heard that Snow Man would be cast for such great work. Moreover, it's a work that's loved by all, so all of us want to make it a great work as a live-action movie. The character I'm playing, Period, is serious and well behaved yet has a mischievousness to him. As an original character, I hope my character, Period, would be able to add an essence to the movie. I hope I can put a smile on everyone's faces along with "Osomatsu-san" so please look forward to it.
