Of Sheep, 2022
My aim was to make a textile that is exactly like a pelt in every possible aspect, only my ryijy is a pelt from a sheep that is alive. Handcrafted woolen objects can be seen as a collaboration between the crafter and the sheep, as they both give something of themselves for the finished product. We can’t forget that wool is not just a fiber or a material – it comes from a living being.
A dream.
This is a 44 x 43 cm rug I made this spring with a needle, wool yarn and some jute cloth!
