Mr Collins is annoying as fuck but when he told Mary in the library that Charlotte wasn't spending anytime with him, and how he repels people, it broke my heart. It's all true, Mr Collins is a greasy mess, but it was hard listening to him be so self aware. Ryan was amazing in that scene.

So Ryan Sampson was cast as Mr Collins in The Other Bennet Sister, went "I've got this" and delivered an amazing portrayal of the character. Yes he was awkward and pompous and ridiculous, like is expected of Mr Collins. But also beautifully vulnerable. The look on his face when Mary plays that the piano tells us everything we need to know about the character's hidden depths and feelings.

And although I would've loves to have Mary stay with the Collinses in Longbourbe, I understand why that was cut from the show and even the little conversation between Mr Collins and Mary about happiness was perfection.

So yes, I'm a Mr Collins fan (been since I read TOBS novel).
