ming dynasty miku!! 🪷
inspired by the “brazilian miku” trend on twitter and a gorgeous outfit i discovered from an online hanfu shop! link and close-ups under the cut :)
I couldn't find any photos of anyone having made a replica of this style of the wide-sleeve Ruqun with the upward flipped shoulder vest T_T
It kind of baffles me that this style of large sleeves actually phased out during the Tang Dynasty (although made a reappearance in another form later on). This period was so luxurious and extravagant, I would've thought they would love these giant sleeves. But then again, after something's been in fashion for a while people get tired of it and something new becomes popular.
I love the mural of the dancing women (pic 2, top left), the hair, the sleeves, the giant pants, xDD
Mothra (monsterverse) gijinka
Made her Chinese since she’s worshipped there within the monsterverse canon, I think qixiong ruqun suits her the most so I based a lot of her makeup and other parts of her design on tang dynasty fashion in general bc that’s the time period where ruqun was popularised
Third image is her 2024 appearance with a daixiushan (also from tang dynasty!!) instead of the blue colored sleeveless top
Mai
[ image description: a digital drawing of Mai from Avatar: the Last Airbender in my style. She is a light-skinned woman walking towards the viewer but looking to the left/her right and holding knives. She has gold eyes and black hair tied in several buns. She is wearing a red ruqun outfit consisting of a blouse with a high collar and wide sleeves, a wide sash, and a long, gored skirt. She is standing in front of a brown Fire Nation sign ]
prints ✨ commissions
The problem with black hair is you just can't see any of the details 😭 inspiration and influences under the cut, with the usual reminder that there's a lot of nuance and detail missing since these originally came from Instagram slides that I made:

[Hanfu · 漢服]Chinese Tang Dynasty(618–907AD)Winter Hanfu Based On Tang Dynasty Mural and figurines
【Historical Artifacts Reference 】:
China Tang Dynasty female figurine:
showing woman wearing“披袄/ Pī ǎo",“披袄/ Pī ǎo" is kind of formal wear. It is said began in the period of Cao Wei(曹魏)period, and was derived from Yiyi(祎衣). Mostly used in winter.
Among the pottery figurines and line carvings of the Tang Dynasty, wearing 披袄/ Pī ǎo" is a very common combination, as well as winter clothing such as double-layered thick Pī bó(披帛)and Earmuffs(暖耳/Nuǎn ěr)
Tang Dynasty”Earmuffs”:暖耳(Nuǎn ěr):
The mural of Li Yong(李邕)'s tomb in Fuping, Shaanxi (the fifteenth year of Tang Kaiyuan, 727 AD),showing a woman wears 暖耳(Nuǎn ěr).
It is presumed to be made of animal fur and a cloth belt, and the cloth belt is tied under the chin.
