Spotted on the run tonight. It's the city of contrasts. Tonight had ends of magnetic poles and this was one of them. Meet Puerto Madero. It's the high colour, wide paths, meander riverside, glossy area of the city. An entirely other world to the 20 lanes of teeming traffic (plus a series of 5 pedestrian crossings) across one of the widest avenues in the world; and the jigsaw of tiny laneways of broken tiles and millions of people and scents (only some are delicious) and fizzing pace. There was a park too. Less green, more city-esque of dust and marshlands and looking out toward Uruguay. I love all of it. We weaved our way through so many different sub-cities today. It all works. And I adore that. Running takes you places you wouldn't otherwise be, perhaps with eyes open in a different way. Sometimes it's fast. Sometimes it's slow and slower. Much was an exercise of patience these last few days as you dance around the many logistics streetside. But then time falls away and none of the details matter and you're floating and there's not a collection of words that could possibly describe it. But: it's there. Second night in Buenos Aires. Walk all day, then an evening run to cruise around the parks. This light: like a beacon. Those trees: everywhere. That movement: constant, soaring, ever in flux. 12 lanes of traffic next to the Liberatador Av of bicyclists, skateboarders, walkers, footballers in fields, drummers in parks, and a runner standing on a corner in magical pause at it all. #buenosaires #runventures #palermo #sun #saturdays #joybeams #runner #life
