when i first started running training i used an app called c210k (couch to 10k)! the app made it so much easier for a beginner like me who had never really done any sports or anything athletic up until that point and the best thing was that the app was FREE
unfortunately when looking up the app to download onto my new phone i found that not only is the app no longer free, its subscription
which means to simply keep the app on your phone you have to pay a monthly fee of $15 which is INSANE to me
SO since i already had the full 10k training on my old phone i decided to type it all down, and now i can share it!
LETS NOT GATEKEEP EASY ACCESSIBLE EXERCISE PLEASE LMAO
Week 1 and the first day of Week 2 are available free on the app! no subscription needed!!! look up C210k by zen labs, its a red square!
i recommend using the free vers to start bc it can be tricky to remember which interval youre on as youre doing them
Days 2 and 3 of Week 2 are the same as Day 1 so just repeat Week 2 Day 1 three times! (If u decide to download the app for the free days u can skip ahead on the list to WEEK 3!)

once you reach this point then u keep repeating the hour for the three days of the week u jog! i prefer to run every other day to give my body a rest day between each exercise day.
It becomes so much fun to see how much farther you get in an hour the stronger you get! 🥳🎉

The course was beautiful, and I did really well for myself in the first hour. I passed the 5k mark at exactly 37:00 minutes, which is a really good time for current me :)
But then around 57 minutes, the course crossed a train track - and a train was coming, really slowly at that, so I had to stop there and wait for several minutes. That kind of broke my rhythm and my spirit too.
I had not had particularly high expectations for my finishing time, this was my first 15k in many years after all, but honestly I had hoped to finish a little bit faster than I ended up finishing. 1 hour, 58 minutes and 9 seconds.
I'm not complaining though, my goal was to run/jog all the way without walking, and I succeeded in that, and it was a beautiful race, so all is well :)

Monday 27 April
I set my personal goal to move at least 6 days a week. Be it walking/cycling/ running, I want to keep active. Today I walked towards the post office with my mum and we took the sceneric route back. We were walking for about 30 minutes, but I didn’t start Strava for it.
Tuesday 28 april
Tuesday is interval day. It was the first run with my new shoes. And it was a rainy one. At some point I had to stop and look for shelter because it was hailing. I actually don’t mind running in the rain, it keeps you cool. I did 10 min warm up, 2*6 min tempo + 1 min rest, 11 min cool down. This session went well.
Thursday 30 April
Easy run day, I ran inbetween 2 rain showers. Which made it an ideal temperature and environment to run in.
Friday 1 may
Went on a nice walk through our town. I like how it’s getting calmer again on the streets. Didn’t always like being out when it was sunny.
Saturday 2 may
Went cycling out of boredom, one of the better coping methods.
Saturday 3 may
Was “allowed” to finally go a bit further and run 45 min today. Was a bit afraid that I wouldn’t be able to complete it yet. So I tried to get my fueling, hydration and clothing right so I would have everything going right for me. But I was worrying for nothing. The weather was just right. Not hot, not warm, no rain... I really enjoyed it and fell in a steady pace once I was a km in. I decided to let my Fitbit show me my time instead of my pace, so I would go at a comfortable feeling pace instead. Would’ve wanted that pace to be a bit faster, but I’ll have to be patient with this proces. In the end I ran a bit further than 45 min so I would hit 7k. Really happy with the progress that I already made
I've officially done the length of a half marathon! Plus a little extra. Got some blisters, socks got wet from several puddles, was exhausted, and that last mile was completed at a jog vs walk thanks only to the company I had (and my desire to not be seen as a wimp). I'm so proud of myself and still cannot quite believe I did it. It seems like so much, and it was, but it's something I could do and did. 🎉
